I think Madge’s biggest mistake was he liked his players to much over the time he was here we Hardly changed the 17 each week he just stuck with people who were clearly failing

He dropped marquee players to reserve grade because they weren’t performing. No coach comes in to the squad he did and has success. Cleary and Pascoe rooted the club for 5 years.

No mate, our fearless ‘boss’ has pointed out that it’s a recruiting committee and they have ‘very robust’ discussions about all signings. Maguire was just left to clean up the mess that Pascoe Hartigan and Cleary created.

A lot of ex Kiwi players blame Maguire for the loss to Australia saying he completely screwed the use of his squad and bench. Sounds familiar to WT tenure. He's very poor in game manager

The most refreshing thing about the Tigers, is Sheens and the direction the club is going.
We all know the importance of having a talented 1, 6, 7, and 9. They are some of the highest paid and one of the most important positions in the side. The fact that only one player is signed beyond 2023, tells us that they will wait and see how they perform before offering new contracts. This is common sense, where the previous admin would have extended all of there contracts by now. This was one of the reasons this club went downhill. So far the club has done a great job.

It's a Double-Edged sword I guess however, what are contracts really worth unless they extend them out? The one player in the spine who may be a gamble at odds is Daine Laurie still only 23. It's no easy task playing behind the bunch he did this year with no combinations with the 6,7 or 9..I would expect with Sheens and Marshall they'll have him sniffing around the play-up-the-middle developing combinations with Api and the halves with the forwards encouraged to look for offloads rather than tuck the ball under the arm and hit the deck like in under 8's..have you ever seen Twai offload a ball?

I honestly believe Madge just wasn’t here at the rite time. With a coach like Madge he can only get the best out of players for a couple of seasons then they just end up busted and over his tough training. Alex Johnson told me him self. So if Madge happened to be here when we had a better roster who knows what would have happened

Such a critical part of the game. I’m not sure who is in charge of that at WT.

I disagree with this assessment. I think Sheens tried to sign them and he may have even signed Brooks longer term.

They wanted more dollars than Sheens was prepared to offer. He also wants to decrease Brooks salary.

I would have thought if MM was staying at Parramatta he would have resigned by now. IMO 2nd best half back in the comp with the best long kicking game, defends strong now and has a super running game. At his peak of his powers, come home Mitch!!

MM has very Shrewd representation and the added fact they are blood relatives.

They are brill at the game.

MM will stay at the Eels on mega money.
