Staines is only signed up for this year and Laurie at this stage has not been offered a new deal to my knowledge.

Maybe that was the plan - the club was happy with mediocrity for 10 years. With Madge still there we were looking at another 13th finish. Maybe the club needed to get the spoon to finally wake up that buying journeymen and over priced over the hill players will always get you a finish around 13th. I have no qualms with what happened.

With Bula many don't realise he came to Keebra Park as a basketball player. His transition to rugby league has been remarkable and the debut in the NRL an indication of his talent. I believe he has a very high ceiling and am thankful he will debut under the new coaching team.
