Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Its an official write off by management of season 2023,when in fact the way we are building ,we cld make a legitimate run at 8th spot..long shot I know, but losing a key forward without a replacement this year says weve drawn a line under 23 and moved on
The sponsors and supporters havent..and neither has the rest of the team Im sure
More Sheens BS to avoid accountability during his reign
It sends the team a very poor message doesn’t it?

People blew up the Schuster thing way more than it was. He wasn’t made available to talk and him getting injured sparked rumors going wild.

I don’t see him leaving Manly anytime soon.

This talk is almost as gold as the Lomax rubbish last year which was never happening.

It’s great to dream though.

until the next time he gets a bit lazy ..he will continue to be “ on the move” to the Tigers as long as Fulton is here..

You have to scratch your head when you see we are releasing Joe to create cap space or balance our cap and roster and you see Parra land two quality signings by shipping out a back up half.

Either we have no idea or Parra are cheating..probably the first one

Tigers could have the best recruitment officers in the game but with the clowns in charge unfortunately I don’t see many players wanting to go to the club
What a calamity from a person who has no NRL nous. Is there anybody in this club in charge of Lee H. I hope he gets sacked as soon as possible.

Our best win this season came with Joffa starting at lock. A lot of the tries we scored don't happen without Joe's passing... which Pole simply doesn't have. Pole is best off the bench, and we looked like we had a really good rotation out there with Ofahengaue at lock and Twal and Pole coming off the bench. I understand this is a financial decision but not sure it's the right one especially for this season

Also not happy that we're doing the Eels a favour. They've never done anything for us, they can go get stuffed. Why are we always the weak ones who give in to releases. Hold onto him for the rest of the year and then move him on, it's not like we're getting anyone anytime soon
I don't mind letting him go but not to the Eels..stuff them.

Why? I wouldn't of released him.

But considering he's a bench prop who plays 30-35 minutes a game and he's on 600k it does make sense to find a.cheaper bench player.

Next year though. Wouldn't give the Eels anything.

What is different next year?

Poor old Joe…busted his arse last year when very few even lifted a finger and his reward was a contract extension. An extension that was widely celebrated as deserved by the fan base and media. Less than 6 months later, this reward is deemed too expensive and we have traded him to our current day enemy, on an early release program.

That same day, another high profile prospective recruit rejects coming here. This is not coincidence. We do not look after our own. We are run by incompetent buffoons. Thanks management, for fcking up morale when we have finally got our act together on the field.
Raiders by 20.
I'd be gutted to bust my hump in a wooden spoon team then the following year under a new coaching regime when things are improving drastically and the club is more enjoyable to be told to move on to free cap space.

We're only 4 points out atm. A few more wins and we're right in amongst it. I'm hoping there's a signing out of left field that improves the squad, I'm pretty gutted Joffas gone he always put everything into the jersey, that's all anyone can ask.

so why is the management writing off the year … like last year?

For those who focus on these things, what’s the initial reaction to our new Reggie, Pellow ?
Any signs of talent etc ?
Apart from the announcement, as Sergeant Schultz would say “ I know nuzzing” !
Just watched the Cup game. His defence is poor - could be adjusting to the system but throws out one arm and acts like a turnstile. Need to watch him closer - just one game I've watched but not impressed.

Parra giving us a lesson on how to manage a roster mid season. Look for areas of need now and offload a backup while promoting youth. All done silently behind the scenes while our idiot fedora wearing chairman promotes himself on radio.

I think a lot of you struggle with comprehension. Lee never said Joffa wouldn't be going anywhere, just that he had not been given a release last week, and still had not been given a release (as of 9am). What he said was true...

But still we should never be releasing an important player for our squad until we have the replacement lined up. Whomever we're planning to sign has to have agreed to terms first and then you do the official stuff and make announcements. If we released Joffa only to then go shopping it would be a calamitous example of unprofessionalism. You don't weaken your squad and strengthen your opponents, you release when it is in our best interests to do so.
