Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Agreed, although I'd swap 2 and 3 in priority.

1. Extend Bula now. No brainer.

2. Need to sort out our halves desperately. Sezer in the short term will do a job but we need to jag either Latu Fainu or Ethan Sanders. Young halves with plenty to prove in the coming years. Next two tears we transition from Sezer to Fainu/Sanders. Metcalf would be amazing at no.6 but will need a controlling half inside him.

Backline, I think we're only one centre away from a competitive back 5. Toa is solid. Tupou is solid with potential. Bula is solid with potential. Nofo is Nofo. Someone like Bradman Best or Lomax would be good. Manu or Tago would be better. But if reports are true, we may have a talent in Feledy...
100% Agree
I could have worded better as they were not in order.

I would assume Knights will not be shopping Best anymore after his SOO game.
Lomax is on a massive deal but would take him

Gus actually reiterated his comments from earlier in the year on 100% footy, that the Wests Tigers are not far off a good team despite results and ladder position, he said they are heading in the right direction
Repeated the same thing today that he guarantees the Tigers are on the way up. Then it got me thinking cause he also admitted to visiting Fainu in prison and mentoring the two guys were after. He's talking the Tigers up in public, rubbishing us to the Fainus to get them signed cheaper under the cap. Reason he's talking us up is so if they do sign for the dogs Gould can't be accused of using his media presence as influence in his role as head of football. Which he does all the time. He's a rat.

SMH article. Ethan Sanders to Raiders from 2025 on a 2 year deal.

Fainu brothers to make a decision (likely) by the end of this week.

Tigers need to add an experienced coach to secure the Fainus apparently to support Benji, not undermine him (requested by player agents).
Hope the Finer brothers go to Bennett. Lord knows they need some leadership in their NRL journey. Wont happen it at Wests Tigers. Feel free to disagree.

So we have to change our coaching structure to suit a couple of rookies? We're a gutless club if we don't tell them where to go.
It sounds like it has been suggested by a few player agents, not just the Fainu's. Suggested that a few agents will advise current players to re-sign if an experience assistant is added.

"Several influential player agents are prepared to back the Tigers by encouraging their clients to sign or re-sign with the joint-venture outfit, but only if there is significant investment in the coaching set-up."

You can't really blame the player agents (in this scenario) for having concerns about sending players to a club headed by a rookie coach with a history of poor management. I'm sure that even the most optimistic fan would have similar concerns...

We need talented halves, a player manager dictating terms doesn't sit well with me either, I can see where they're coming from though the Tigers aren't the most stable club with our history. I'm really torn about it atm.

You are not from Canada by any chance. Thinking outside the box you are?

It's kind of strange how they want an experienced coach with Benji but we currently have Sheen here who is the most experienced couch you would find.

Sanders one is strange as well considering its not until 2025 so must have got ok from Eels to talk.

Thats why its all about business. Without fans money they will starve.

Absolutely agree. This was always gonna
happen when they picked the coaches.

I think we need as much coaching help as we can get. Sheen’s hadn’t coached in the NRL for ten years and had done poorly overseas. Benji had never coached. Furner ✅.

Sheens will be gone soon enough, I suspect he won’t be coaching us next year. Benji, Furner and Holbrook/Morris would be good imo. I would have been happy with Morris instead of Sheens/Benji.

Josh Hannay also highly rated.

Pack their bags and send them to Redcliffe, most experienced coach in the business up there !

These grub player manager grubs aligned with Fulton are starting to make Isaac Moses look like a Teddy Bear 🐻
