I remember Bellamy saying that at training, Cooper Cronk asks "why do we do this"?
"sometimes he gets me, because I don't know why we do this".

Cooper has in his head an entire NRL players guide. he will know where players should be, what they should do and why moving this way instead of that would be a bad move.

What I would do is offer him stupid money to do a review on the tigers. Have him spend 1 month or more in the off season. Review the club top to bottom but give tips and a plan. That's how I think we would lure him.
Head coach is off the table due to Benji.
Don't know what else we could do, I would 100% do anything to bring him in.

I’d easily offer Tom Dearden the 7 jersey and a 4 year deal. He’s unbelievably good who if it wasn’t for Munster would be the QLD 6. He could provide some well needed spark in attack for us and could definitely move to 7 long term his game is more tailored to a halfback anyways imo.

Cowboys apparently offering him 3 years for 2 million at around 660k a year. I’d easily offer him 900k a year over 4 years without hesitation.

As much as people might disagree - the 7 position for us is actually a very attractive option. Our forward pack with Api guiding them around, with Bula coming up and Fainu being looked at as the long term 6 partner. On top of that our nursery for juniors keep providing future talent and the opportunity to be coached by a player of Benji’s stature with the experience of Sheens being around too would be appealing to some. That’s excluding the extra 250k a year with an additional year in security. Don’t think it’s so far fetched.

Fainu and Dearden could definitely give us a halves pairing for the next decade that could cause serious problems.

Said this awhile back when the cows were struggling, I think Dearden is a bit underrated league wide.
Good short and long kicking game, very good running and support game and defends well for his size.
I feel that his ball playing is probably the only real area that isn't top quality, but he's a tough little bugger and always digs deep into the line so the potential is there. He could form such a good combo with someone like IP.
If that's really all the Cows are offering him I would be shocked, he'll be a mainstay in the QLD side once DCE hangs them up.
