The son inlaw is a Canberra supporter because that’s where Bellamy playedCan you get your son in law to have a word with him to tell him to punt big Nelson and force him to sign with us.

Thanks for posting this advice. Melbourne is a great cultural and sporting city. The Storm while achieving very good results on-field, have failed Melbourne and the NRL. Providing opportunities for both girls and boys to play league shouldn't be that difficult, especially in the more central areas of Melbourne.I live in Melbourne, smack bang in the center where the F1 track is in beautiful Albert Park with multiple huge sports fields and other sporting facilities all close by - I walk the fields most weekends through-out the year and let me tell you not once in a decade have i ever seen a rugby league match being played, at any level junior or adult. Union yes, AFL of course, even bloody Gaelic football and frisbee have league comps lol, but never league.
it just doesn't happen here, and if it does its in the outer outer suburbs where to be quite frank its Sunday league ability at best. you'll never unearth talent from that.
We just don't play it here, still after 25 years. and its a massive shame because i do think a lot of Melburnian's actually love watching the game. They just dont want their kids to play it/no where central for them to play...
Apart from others, one of my cousins was this fella - a dead set hero from Portland:I am a Lithgow boy, been here all my life, but I have plenty of mates from Portland
1. SpeedThe players IMO.
You the saw immediate difference in Parra's attack when Moses came back. Its having that touch of class that you really can't put your finger on or definitively define what they do different, they just do something that can't really be coached that ignites the attack. It's subtle, so you imagine it can be coached, but it can't. Coaching can improve it for those that have it, but if you don't have it you don't have it.
That's just my opnion.
Poor bloke was brainwashed early. The son inlaw is a Canberra supporter because that’s where Bellamy played
Quite a story, the likes of him and other brave souls gave us the life we live todayApart from others, one of my cousins was this fella - a dead set hero from Portland:
(please note the bakery where he worked with his Dad at the outbreak of WW2 was in Portland)

Thats ok, I think i was maybe a bit too harsh about the "Sunday league at best" comment. There are obliviously some great young kids playing it in secondary schools and school state comps, but they are all in the outer suburbs, where with respect to the Polynesian communities - that's where they live and they make up the large majority of players. Thanks for posting this advice. Not wrong mate, he messaged me this morning saying we will put 30 on you blokes on Sunday. I replied and said with 10 out injured and Klemmer suspended it should be more like 50, so beware the wounded TigerPoor bloke was brainwashed early.
And yet they still will lolOh well, look on the bright side, if it has been determined that they are all shit then we won't have to worry about other teams stealing them.

Very interesting reading your comments reminds of a Bennett interview from a few years ago about coachingThe players IMO.

Good post. No doubt we have work to do but it is good you have acknowledged the Canberra trio are not juniors at all but have been trucked in from the Central Coast, Newcastle and Wollongong to be put into the very good Raiders' system. Galvin, Mason, Miller, Da Silva and co are all our juniors brought through from our own junior district. The Raiders attempted to sign Da Silva which reflects very highly on our identification and retention systems that they failed. The Knights, Illawarra, WTs, Panthers are some of the clubs that do produce local juniors in quantity. The Raiders announced the signings of three top-tier juniors (from other clubs) just yesterday, each declared to have a clear path to the NRL.
The difference between us and other successful NRL clubs in player management lies in their systems and rosters, which clearly support the effective development and integration of younger players into the NRL. This makes their approach more appealing for someone starting their career.
Their statement highlights their method to recruiting and developing young talent, which reflects confidence in their systems. They also emphasise their ability to nurture these players and elevate their games to the next level.
"We're really excited to have Ethan, Myles, and Savelio join us in 2025, and we know they have the talent and drive to take their games to the next level," stated Raiders recruitment manager Joel Carbone on Thursday.
"We've demonstrated that our club provides opportunity and a clear pathway to the NRL. We look forward to their arrival in 2025 and wish them all the best for the remainder of their seasons with their current clubs."
Our player management strategies differ from other clubs due to our current circumstances. If we continue to improve overall, our player management will evolve accordingly.
Honestlky Perth makes more sense, they have contributed more players to the nrl and we got a good spike on the back of the reds.AFL is the holy grail in Melbourne, it can never be shifted.
True but providing girls and boys with opportunities to play league in inner city areas is not shifting AFL.AFL is the holy grail in Melbourne, it can never be shifted.
Disagree. You can't coach a Brad Schnieder to ignite a teams attack.
Coaching can only help improve the players that have it.
Our coaching for attacking formations and plays is the worst in the comp.
We could have Walsh at fullback and he wouldn’t be effective with the current way we are coached.
Coaching attack in 2024 is about teaching players to create space and not filling their minds with orchestrated moves. The teams with better natural attacking players are the ones who will score points. To an extent yes, but not to the degree your implying. The talent of the players in key positions is more important. Just my view.
