Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I think out of the Broncos review, they will want to get in a couple of experienced forward hard-heads. Losing Flegler & Capewell particularly hurt this year. That’s why I think they should seriously look at Bateman not Faagutu.
How about Klemmer? But I'll take Bateman...

To be honest if they take anyone we are willing to part with it's a big win.

Any got an update on the Montoya situation?

Skelton, Turuva, Bird & if we land Montoya. Definitely makes competition for spots.

Douiehi, Olam, To'a, Feledy, Staines, Naden, Lobb, L Laulilii & possibly Faataape.

Staines & Naden apparently free to go.

Faataape development?

Alaimalo no contract

Alaimalo isn’t getting re-signed….
We’ve signed 3 wingers and a couple centres since we signed him…
If he can count - he’s looking for another gig… that in itself might be why we haven’t heard anything on him…

I would hope Faagutu is not sent back to Brisbane. He was our best Flegg player this year, he's young, he's not in our 30 and his best years are well ahead of him.

You'd wanna send a top 30 guy and they are reportedly looking for an older head. Bateman, Klemmer or Twal fits the bill although why they'd go there is unclear. Broncos don't need Staines or Naden.

That makes no sense, there willing to let a good forward go to pick up a kid that has never played 1st grade , I think someone is pulling ur leg

Faagutu is top 30 next year....

But there's also no way they'd want any of our players. They have half a dozen props as good as Chris.

Even though i hate Souffs i would say the same about their supporters as well, their core supporters are as loyal and diehard as we are
You got that right.

Yes Knights supporters have stuck by. But even our supporters have nothing on Souths.

Doggies are strong, but Souths have to have the strongest supporter base I know.

All the same, selling out spoon bowl, regardless of anything else this this season is a pretty good feeling for the tragic rank and file.

Behind the scenes, I’m sure the club would have viewed this extraordinary sell-out in a very positive light.

What it seemed to represent is that the faith was still there notwithstanding the troubles.

We had some recent indications the side was picking up, so it was a shame we got badly beaten. Those following our fortunes more closely wouldn’t have actually bet on us.

I don’t think the fair weather fan is a bad thing per se, it just means they don’t have the same emotional investment and get less bounce back than the harder core when we win. Besides, we need their cash.

If you swing to another club because of success, I guess you’re more attracted to success than the club and it’s machinations.

This is an interesting era in the clubs life, finally getting the office in some kind of order but waiting patiently for outcomes.

The clubs in the finals, such a miserable, uninspiring lot. We get to see how some of our recruits are going, that’s about it.

They can have Faagutu, only on 1 year deal for 25. May turn out to be a champion but untested & we need Hethrington now.

Only other one could possibly be Sullivan. Broncos have very poor halves depth in Jock Madden, Rogers who filled in was ordinary. Reynolds is riddled with injury so hopefully they take Bud off our hands.
With there huge nursery,Broncos can manufacture a player for any position except 7
Sullivan wldnt be rated, the obvious won't be reeased..so latu is my pick.from their perspective
Apart from splitting the family,he's our back up if Galvin goes
They can have virtually anyother outside back except Bula

Because he does the work in coaching with results to back it up. What had Benji done, still wet behind the ears as a coach and no results. He should be putting in 10 hours a day to compete with the other first grade coaches. Apprentices don't get or take the same leave as their masters.
Apprentices don't get or take the same leave as their masters. - Under NSW law and the relevant Award they do.

Liam Martin runs the ball kamikaze style and is a genuine attacking threat and menace to his opposition every time he gets the ball.
The way Liam Martin runs the ball compared with John Bateman is worlds apart.
Kalomatangi is a big unit and a quality player with super human strength which makes him so effective, but he too has started to stop and jink rather than running hard like he used to.
Souths and the Eels are nearly as ineffective on their edges as what we are and guess where they finished ?
Neither played semi finals this year or last.

Fa’agatu is a #13. Has been used as a prop in lower grades. Similar stature to Hetherington, but has some ball playing skills. Doesn’t have the engine though which is the knock on Fa’agatu. WT have several players if his stature and most likely shopping him for more a bigger player, and NRL ready prop.
Give him a chance.

Guy is 20, shows some promise. .. Although

What skills can be developed and what cant?

Lacks the engine.. Stamina. Can we build that? or will that always be the case?

AD is Tackle shy, always has been, always will be.

A prop that could play center at a stretch. That is exactly what we need.
