Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

To'o is a Tiger was told that this morning so mite not need those guys
Seriously dont do this to us. But now were going to start hearing all the experts on here telling us why we shouldnt. Hes a game changer and would be massive at our club. Its as simple as that. Pay the money Richo. we waste enough on garbage, its seems like we have a lot of players earning a couple of hundred more than there worth here lets pay one that actually deserves it.
Ask yourself If we pay Bud $500 a season how much is To'o worth

Are we going after any props? We need more props. Are RCG or NAS an option? Or anyone else?

We currently have 8 middles signed out of 30 spots. Throw in Sione Fainu who should be signed, and also Johannsen as back up outside the squad and we already have too many spots allocated to middles. We can't have 1/3 of our roster tied up like this.

We don't need more. Maybe we need better, but that can only happen if we offload Klemmer and Matamua. Possibly re negotiate Miller and Kit down to development contracts, but that's unlikely.

I heard the RCG to Penrith To'o to Tigers rumour weeks ago off a different person from today that To'o is a Tiger

It's just very interesting that RCG has left Parramatta has a new club but it has not been announced I wonder why

We would need to go higher than 800k. Bula is on 800k ffs. The best winger in the world will want 900k, and that's fair enough.

We need to change the culture at the club, releasing losers and signing winners is how we do that.

We don't have many/any other players on big money long term, most clubs have 2-3 players on close to a million. You want to have a few elite players and then some cheapies to round out the 30. Having a squad full of Nadens, Toa's and Staine's on 350-400k kills the club. Having Too on 900k + Saukuru on 150k is so much better than having Naden Toa and Staines for the same value.

Of course we just need to release the deadwood, yet again.
Is $800k for Bula real? He was promising when signed, can’t imagine it’s that much

It’s not Bellamy . It’s their GM. Has a Greek name I think . He’s all over recruitment
Myabe..but its not the GM wo turns reserve graders into stars.
And u cant tell me for a moment that any GM wld buy any player without Bellamys seal of approvalIt wld be career limiting!

Thought the same thing. Can’t recall a player being announced as leaving with a year to go on contract, with no follow up club signing. Very strange indeed…

Yeah I think better is what I mean, a lot of who we have are unproven.

DT Sport Confidential:

FACE THE CONSEQUENCES’: BENJI’S HIGH EXPECTATIONS

Wests Tigers players have been left in no doubt about what is expected from them when they return to pre-season training in November after the club delivered some home truths in their exit interviews.

It is understood the players were told that they needed to return to pre-season in tip-top shape or face the consequences.

The Tigers have won three straight wooden spoons and a fourth will be unacceptable given the club has secured some big signings for next year, chief among them Penrith superstar Jarome Luai, his premiership-wining teammate Sunia Turuva and Cronulla prop Royce Hunt.

The Tigers remain in the market and have been linked with a handful of players including Marcelo Montoya and Brisbane’s Kobe Hetherington – Hetherington is expected to visit the club’s headquarters next week.

However, they may choose to keep their powder dry and watch how the summer unfolds before making any further moves.

The club’s existing players have also been told to arrive back at training in good condition as the club looks to give coach Benji Marshall the best chance to lead a revival.

The message appears to have had the desired effect – a number of the club’s young stars were still working out in the facilities this week in a bid to ensure they hit the ground running next season.

Meanwhile, premiership-winning hero Brett Hodgson is among the coaches being considered as Marshall looks to strengthen the ranks of his assistants next season.

Hodgson, a teammate of Marshall in the 2005 grand final win and a life member of the Tigers, was most recently a member of Eddie Jones’ staff with the Wallabies, acting as their defensive coach.

He has previously been on the Tigers coaching staff as an assistant.
