Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Has anyone heard Toby Rudolph.
A mate who is a sharks supporter has told me apparently Rudolph will be here in 25.
I'm guessing if true we still have not freed up the roster spots. Hopefully some news at the presentation night next week
I thought this was happening when he swapped managers just before the finals - as Richo wouldn't want to negotiate through his son for that one

Well at least with Broncos we will have some more data to see if Madge really can coach or not. Successful at Wigan, great success and failure at Rabbits, mostly failing at Tigers, pretty decent results with Kiwis and NSW... another set of data will help.

If Madge does well at Broncos it really does paint Tigers in a bad light, the only place that was so far gone that he couldn't get a result.
I think you’re right. I do think if he does well again the Madge haters will just say he had an elite roster despite that same roster running 12th this year.

I didn’t think he’d come back here but he’s another good coach off the table should Benji continue to struggle next year.

Think Sheens wanted Bateman which left Blore hanging a bit and then we got Olam Storm got Blore. We finished with the spoon he's in a GF.
Edit think there was also a debate around Blore wanting to play an edge and we wanted him as a middle iirc.
Think there was a debate about Blore playing at all , he managed 30 or so games in 4 seasons with us iirc

You ALSO called them low impact- just pointing out that statistically, that Klemmer in the least has as much impact in most catagories as the guy nearly to a man on this board is suggested as our saviour.

But- if you want a team that Twal, Klemmer & Seyfarth could in theory put enough numbers together to crack the top 17..

SOO Forward (Starter)
24 Games
4 tackle breaks
501 PCM
3 offloads
94.9% tackle efficiency
72 run metres per game

Bench Forward (Highly wanted on this message board)
23 games
36 tackle breaks
635 PCM
4 offloads
96.3% tackle efficiency
80 run metres per game

Starting Prop
22 games
17 tackle breaks
873.1 PCM
0 Offloads
95.7% tackle efficiency
102 run metres per game

Bench Prop
9 games
16 tackle breaks
328.5 PCM
3 offloads
89.8% tackle efficiency
101 run metres per game

Bench Middle
22 games
23 tackle breaks
735.9 PCM
12 offloads
88.9% tackle efficiency
112 run metres per game

Bench backrower
21 games
34 tackle breaks
635 PCM
3 offloads
86.8% tackle efficiency
81 run metres per game

I give you- Manly
Jake T
Ethan Bullemoor
Joah Aliaoi
Matt Lodge
Nathan Brown
Ben T

For comparison-
Twal
18 Games
28 tackle breaks
565 PCM
6 offloads
97.2% tackle efficiency
80 run metres per game

Seyfarth
23 games
21 tackle breaks
701.8 PCM
16 offloads
94.5% tackle efficiency
75 run metres per game

I'd say our 1 dimensional low impact plodders at the very least hold up to the forwards that finals playing Manly put on the field.

Before you rant that neither Klemmer, Twal or Seyfarth are exceedingly better than these Manly forwards- my point is they are not worse either.

I could have given the Storm numbers, Dolphins numbers...even the Sharks to a degree. Canterbury.

Klemmer, Twal & Seyfarth are not the problem. In fact, in a poor overall defensive team, it can be argued all 3 need to be on the field more.

Our issue (IMO) is that we have started our sets of six too far in our territory for any of our forwards to ever exceed in impact plays. Our return on metres from tackles 1 & 2, from our outside backs, are some of the worst numbers in the NRL. Hopefully Turuva & Skelton can help with that.

We have all the impact we need from Pole, Hunt & Sione Fainu.

Do you actually watch (And understand) Rugby League....
None of the 3 Tigers players had as good a season as Nathan Brown.
Where's your stats for Leg Speed and and I actual Impact on the Defence...
You'd be doing well to argue the other 2 as well - Although i see you've given it a red hot go with lots of letters and numbers.

Leave you to it man, You've got absolutely no idea....
How is your pursuit of Hymel Hunt going?
How do his Lower Grade Stats compare against the Premier Wingers in the Comp?

My guess is that there will be some players who are still dirty Kev got the bullet, I am praying for a train wreck, not sure Walsh, Haas, Cobbo, and the likes will buy what Madge is selling.
Then you factor in the Queensland verse NSW rivalry, it could be great viewing from the outside, tales of Bronco town
And now reports that Alfie is about to walk out over Kevvies dismissal. Half the players won't know where they are supposed to stand without Alfie there.

All this talk of Blore misses one point. He does an entirely different job at Melbourne than what we needed him to do at WT. At Melbourne he is their main decoy runner on the left. Occasionally Munster will use him to hit the line and draw defenders away from the next play. He rarely makes a line break. He does far more defense as first or second man in the tackle. At WT we needed him to be the explosive wide runner that we lack. We needed him to be breaking the line and setting up the outside players. It never really happened.
I really like Blore and with 2 ball players in the halves next year he may have become the explosive runner that we need, guess we will never know.

No better example of old boys influence in a club than the Broncos. Id say their are plenty not happy about Maguire being give the keys, and the rockstar element of the playing group will need to buy in or things could get murky very quickly. They need the change but not sure if they are prepared to adopt it.

Very limited role

Late to the convo , but yes klemmer is good for yardage but the problem is they are slow . He fights for those extra PCM and the defensive line is generally set , he generally has slow ptb

Also his general demeanour during a game would be off putting he gets angry and frustrated which I think effects everyone else
I get angry and frustrated when I watch the Wests Tigers play.

I hope that hasn't affected the players and been the reason they have been shit all these years. 🤔

Similar to mine, I’ll probably put Sione (if re-signed) over miller and faatape I’m on the fence about, but hopefully Montoya sorts that out for us
I haven't seen or heard any of this Montoya info about him being linked with us .. except from in here .. ?? Have i missed something .. ??

Warriors winger Marcelo Montoya is the latest name to be linked to the Tigers as the club continues to revamp its roster following a third straight wooden spoon.

It is understood that the Tigers have spoken with Montoya about a possible switch to the club as early as next season. This comes despite Montoya still having a year left on his contract with the Warriors.

To be honest i hope that the donkeys hate Madge coming to the club because if they buy into his ideas 100% they will become a far stronger club and become the powerhouse that everyone will fear.I hope that the players hate him and the management of the club fight him from the begining, the more animosity the better for the rest of us.We don't need the donkeys performing consistently like the storm the riff or even the rorters.

Not the answer you are looking for- but you might find it interesting:

The last bit- tries scored after play of the balls....Luia & Royce Hunt rate high
One thing that I did get out of that article on play the ball speeds was that it confirmed what I have thought for a long while now is that there are so many players that don't touch the ball with their foot when they play the ball.

People were telling me that I was wrong and I was starting to think that I was imagining things, but no, this article basically confirmed what I suspected and that was that players were not playing the ball correctly.

Oh well, to their credit at least they noticed the other day that Lindsay Collins was facing the wrong goal line when he played the ball, so there is at least some glimmer of hope that they may pick up the odd play the ball indiscretion now and then. 🤣

The main issue I have with this is why do the NRL have a crack down on things like this for a number of weeks and then totally ignore it like it is no longer an issue of any significance?

Definitely not the biggest blight on the game but just typical of what they consistently do, crack down on things and then go on to ignore it as if it is no longer an issue of any importance.

given his links to the Richardson family it's not entirely a surprise we've been linked.

I thought he stood up in the finals for Cronulla in all three games. if we managed to get that Toby Rudolf I'd be a happy man.

I'm not a big fan of Rudolf but this is a realistic comment.

We are a young squad and we could really use an experienced forward leader. We've tried before in the likes of Tamou and failed but I think Rudolf is no slouch.

Klemmer isn't exactly delivering that role and has been underwhelming, adding Rudolf to the pack transforms it quite positively. (Assuming we also sign #13 Kobe)

8. Toby Rudolf
9. Apisai Koroisau (C)
10. David Klemmer
11. Samuela Fainu
12. Jack Bird
13. Kobe Hetherington *

14. Latu Fainu or TDS
15. Alex (Twal or Seyfarth)
16. Fonua Pole
17. Royce Hunt

Some room for movement with Sione or Tim J, as well as what happens with Bateman ~ I don't think he'll be back though.

Media leaks are only allowed when somebody wants to put the boot into the Tigers …

This Mole guy is another flea always looking to spin a negative story about the WT…

For a team that hasn’t done squat in 13 years … they sure have a lot of enemies in the media !
He holds a grudge against the Tigers as a good mate of Sheens & McDonnell was a source of into for him.

Load of crap this story. As if the Tigers would leak this as it paints them in the more negative light plus Mestrov is the one quoted in the original story.

My money is on Warren Mac feeding Mole (Tony Adams) a load of sh*t!
