"The term seppo is Australian slang used to make fun of Americans. It's said to come from rhyming slang, with Yank rhyming with septic tank. Septic tank was ultimately shortened to seppo, with the O-ending common in Australian slang."What does SEPPO mean.
If he is signed, we probably won't be able to afford any others.Did your source mention when this will be announced by the club ? Makes sense to wait til after the GF.. but his signing could influence others to join, so there is an interest to get it out there ASAP..
Larry Corowa. If they got hold of them?
It was the 3m rule back then…pretty hard not to get hold of someone.
Don’t forget contested scrums too… and unlimited tackles.
Plus no replacements running on and off.
Modern players would never win a scrum to have the ball.
As for wingers setting sail for the line?
There’s no one playing today as fast as a bloke like Ken Irvine… they would never have caught him.
Plus no try if you touch the corner post.
Impossible to compare the two games.

Yeah they lost by 2 and their kicker missed one from beside the posts. Tough way to go out.Warrington officially out of the ESL. Bateman looked pretty upset about the loss. Hopefully whatever needs to play out can happen now.
FYI: Daddy [Stephen Isdale] coached his son, halfback Alex, in HM last year. The son appears to be blocked to progress short term.Another one who’s mummy and daddy probably think their golden child has had their pathway block by the current origin half.

If he is signed, we probably won't be able to afford any others.
Modern forwards are as fit as hell and are far better defenders. They’d wear the old school guys out.
Modern halves are far bigger and more aggressive. Theyd pummel the line as would the three quarters. It’d be 6 old school forwards v the whole team.
There’s no way the 50’s boys could keep up.
Mentioned him a few times before but Mason Teague is bloody good lock. Playing well again today. Contracted at Phins for another year but somewhat down the pecking order there with the rise of Plath. Penrith junior that might ne keen for a return to Western Sydney. I think he offers just as much as Hetherington at probably half the price.
Yeah that is true, however these guys are professionals. They’d train for this example and adapt quickly. The guys from the 50’s were not as multifaceted as todays elite athlete is. The block plays alone would result in a lot of tries.I can see that but also the alternative. The modern forwards are as fit as hell as you say but for the modern game. Remember the drill the Canterbury did last year as punishment? That was a training drill in the 60’s a totally different type of fitness was required - forwards for example needed physical strength to endure the scrum contest but a lot less fast endurance but were not being able to be replaced. Modern forwards have never packed a scrum like the 60’s and would struggle with the strength, endurance and the continual contest. Ball security was much more important.
As I said a different game to today
Exactly, it's rhyming slang and should not specifically offensive. Unless Americans find "Yank" offensive, but that just comes from Yankee. Term was very common during the war years to refer in a positive way to Americans.Yank = Septic tank = Seppo as it was told to me many years ago?
Yea ah lets see:I think you’re right. I do think if he does well again the Madge haters will just say he had an elite roster despite that same roster running 12th this year.
I didn’t think he’d come back here but he’s another good coach off the table should Benji continue to struggle next year.
I don't fundamentally disagree that Brisbane has a good roster, but in what world does Jock Madden get picked over Luai, Galvin or Fainu? He's Brisbane's third best half and would be our fourth.Yea ah lets see:
Adam Reynolds
Corey Oates
Ezra mam
Kotoni Staggs
Reece Walsh
Selwin Cobbo
Carrigan
Haas...
Seriously Jock Madden is cover for this team and a first grader in ours. It's an elite roster and a grand final team.
I’m not so sure the modern players would adapt as quickly as you assume.Yeah that is true, however these guys are professionals. They’d train for this example and adapt quickly.
