Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I did say Hunt to the Chooks.

May to the Tigers. Romey will be all over it!

Miller & Bateman out.

May & Sione in.
Dare to dream but my Wests Tigers half empty cup on the shelf says it will never happen.
May can play 80min if need be, with 20 hitups and 200m.

May at 950K is too much

Leo Thompson will do me

Geeze those round 1 teams we put up look terrible

Twal, Seyfarth and Sione Fainu - keep one of them

Bird at lock is horrendous

Our forward pack is probably the worst in the league

Bird and Bateman are small

Hunt plays 15 mins

Klemmer is another year slower

Only api and Samuel’s are starters

Sione and Pole are ok impact guys but could have one of them

Everyone else is a massive plodder. Not sure they’d make any other pack.

We are missing 2/3 genuine first graders that would be in top 8 sides
$950k for May was over 2 years.... $475k a year

Exactly.
May is a quality front rower. However I'd stay clear of these May grubs. The Roosters wanting him gone after such a great season from him speaks volumes. We have to think long term here.
The Roosters are making cap space for 2026...guess who they will target and a $1m+ offer!...they want a young foil for Walker!...a 6 and 7 that will be together for 5+ years

by god I hope we’re front of the queue.

Taylan May is on 950k? He's up there as one of the highest paid props in the game. Actually...one of the highest paid players in the game.

Kobe Hetherington still in the frame ...

https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/s...g/news-story/36bd79d3299079b24d22ee010b089494

Kobe Hetherington’s management will hold urgent talks with new Brisbane coach Michael Maguire to determine his future at the Broncos.

Sport Confidential can reveal Hetherington’s manager Chris Haddad will fly north to Brisbane next week to meet with Maguire to thrash out whether the tough-tackling forward has a future at Red Hill.

Hetherington is off-contract next season and was given permission by the Broncos six weeks ago to talk to rival clubs.

The 25-year-old officially becomes a free agent from tomorrow and has interest from a number of NRL rivals, including the Dragons and Wests Tigers.

Hetherington’s preference is to stay at the Broncos, but the son of Queensland Origin legend Jason is seeking a regular starting spot and is stuck behind Pat Carrigan in the battle for the No.13 jumper.

“We’re going to meet with Michael Maguire next week to see where we are at,” Haddad confirmed.

Asked if leaving is an option, Haddad said: “100 per cent it is.

“It’s 50-50 right now.

“We’re a chance of staying but we’re also a chance of leaving depending on how the meeting goes with Madge.”

Maguire has indicated he wants to keep Hetherington at the Broncos, but if he can’t guarantee more game time, the Queensland Origin hopeful could make a move to Sydney.

“Kobe has interest from a couple of clubs, including the Tigers,” Haddad said.

“He loves the Broncos and ideally he would want to stay, but Kobe wants a regular starting spot like any player and that’s tough when you have Pat Carrigan playing 13.

“We’ve agreed to meet next week.

“The Broncos have given us permission to look around but if they don’t give us permission to leave, then we can’t get any formal offers.”
I see this as the manager putting pressure on Broncos to grant that full release request. If there were no dramas and he was genuinely happy to stay, I wouldn't expect the manager to bring this up again. Carrigan will be the 13 for the foreseeable future and he will always be on quite limited minutes at Broncos. If Kobe wants a starting spot or increased minutes, he will be going elsewhere.

Get Terrell May to the Tigers ASAP! He’s the PERFECT addition now as a free agent! 🔥🔥🔥👊🏾
I rate this guy so highly, deserved to play Origin this year! His ceiling is incredible! Can easily play 80 mins as a front rower without losing quality in his play! Huge motor, huge workrate and a really good ball player! Was the Chooks main offloader as well! Anyone who saw his 30 metre cutout pass assist in Magic Rd knows how good this bloke is! He’s a premier starting front rower and exactly the middle forward we need, someone who makes huge lost contact metres, gets an offload and rarely makes an error!!

Kobe Hetherington In Tigers Sights

Brisbane Broncos forward Kobe Hetherington is the latest target in Benji Marshall’s sights as he looks to finalise his roster for the 2025 season.
“The Tigers have been obviously chasing him pretty hard or next year – he’s sort of the last piece of the puzzle.” said Brent Read on Triple M’s Rush Hour.

Hetherington’s management is set to meet with Michael Maguire next week to iron out his future, and whether he has one at the Broncos.

“So the Tigers should have an answer from Kobe Hetherington at some point next week whether he will join them for the upcoming season.”
