Except he's done it at more than 1 club, In more than 1 Grade, In more than 1 Country
At clubs with limited resources, With language barriers - And still risen above.

Talking of his 'resources' isn't he now the longest coach in Roosters 117 year History?
(Including the likes of Gibson, Stuart, Anderson, Gould, Smith, Murray, Fulton - All Career coaches)
Surely they had the same resources?

Bottom 5 my Ear,
I could give you well more than 5 Current NRL Coaches I'd swap him for in a heartbeat
without even thinking (including ours)
- And I'd beat I'm not alone....

Interested to see how many folk in the game would rate him Bottom 5.
You and a fist full other plebs that hate the Roosters that much would be my guess...

I didn't say he is bottom 5. I said he potentially is. We have 7 rookie coaches who could prove better than him. Unlikely of course, but still potential.

I would back Cleary, Bellamy, Bennett, Hasler Stuart (who I hate) and Flanagan as coaches who would have done better with what he has had at his disposal. That puts him at number 7 at the moment.

And coached a near rep quality side each year that virtually every other observer can’t believe they are under the cap

No one is smashing Cleary for his side....
He's lost a rep side!!

Edit - Imagine there's sides (And Coaches) out there that don't Pay 800k for a Josh Reynolds to play 20 Games over 4 years, Or 550k for a Bud Sullivan to play reserve grade.....

Imagine what they could do with all the money they're saving....

Just because someone works for Rich / Strong Club - It doesn't mean they're incompetent!!

In Robbo's first year as a Top Tier Head Coach he took Catalans from the Spoon to 6th.
The Spoon!!

Here's a couple snippets from his time in Lower Grades at Toulouse in his mid/late 20's
(Almost 10 years before he coached at the Roosters)

“When I first started coaching, I was interviewed and asked who the best coach was I played under, and I said, Robbo. They said, ‘But he only coached you for one year, so why?’ I said, ‘I loved playing for him’.

“He took us to the semi-final [of the Challenge Cup in 2005; the first French side to reach that stage]. He was only here the one year, but he was one of the best coaches we have had.”

Remember the 2010 Roosters side.... the one that beat us to a shot at the title?
Ask any of them weather it was Brian Smith or Trent Robinson (His Assistant) that made that side?
Although Robbo leaving a the end of 2010 and the Roosters sliding from runners up to
11th might point you in the right direction there as well.

Most of Penrith’s ‘rep’ players came thru their junior system and then they replaced them from their juniors when they were poached due to salary cap. No such issue for coach Robinson and the roosters
Completely different process for the roosters system
