Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

believe we are tipping in more than that but few sources saying medical done
He signed $2.4m over 4 years so that's $600k a year. We are apparently happy to pay him out $900k.

So you'd suggest we pay $300k & Souths get him for $300k. Fair deal if you ask me. I would hope they'd be paying $350k.

But hey it's a spot we need vacant & we have more than enough halves depth now.

I would suggest some “Tigers GST “ added to the reported Bud Sullivan contract figure …No one else wanted him at the time , so I doubt even dopey Pascoe would pay that much bidding against himself …

We certainly haven’t heard $700k a year before …. Figures have been consistent at $550k prior to today…. Unfortunately it still makes sense they need to pay $300k a year to get rid of him …so $900k in total

Anyway … he isn’t sniffing NRL here again,,. So pay the money and move on

He could have his leg amputated and still want more than 400 from us.
I’d take him at a reasonable price, but I’d rather he finish his rehab and get back on the field at the rorters, but we may not get the luxury as I get the feeling they want him gone and he wants to sign his next contract early.
He should have signed with us instead of ruining his career at the hen peckers, and he’d be at a premier Club on the up.
And just to clarify, I only want him as a lock and hooker cover, and only if he wants to be a lock and get back to his best.
Agree about him playing lock, I believe that is where he has played his best footy and would solve a problem for us for a couple of years, but I think he really only wants to play in the # 9 and isn't all that keen on playing lock.

The Roorters can pay him to sit on his arse for most of the season, or at least until "Bee sting head Robbo" gives him a phone call to let him know the club is moving in a different direction. 🤣

Can't imagine anyone wanting to sign him on big money until when and if he makes a successful come back.

Anyone go to the training session today? 🫡🔥🔥 Anything interesting, surprising or exciting in terms of player positions, how they look fitness wise, how intense training was compared to previous years, the new recruits etc. please mention??
People might think i’m getting a bit carried away but Makasini is NRL ready now. Scored a classy try where no one laid a hand on him & just physically you wouldn’t think this kid is only 17 years old. Api was classy around the ruck but the best on ground for me was probably Latu Fainu was very sharp & had some bloody nice touches.

Sullivan is an eye-watering contract worth $700,000 for the next three seasons. That $2.1 million is burning a hole in the Tigers salary cap.

This masthead has reported that the Tigers would be willing to give Sullivan a $900,000 handshake to walk away from the club.
They're at it again. . . . . . . . . 700k for the next 3 seasons.

Did Latu get any reps with the main team? Or did he just stay in the "B" side?

NRL Market Watch: Jayden Sullivan signs with Wests Tigers on $2.2m four-year deal August 5, 2023 - 7:13PM

The Wests Tigers have signed Jayden Sullivan from St George Illawarra on a four-year, $2.2 million deal, pending a medical clearance on Tuesday.
Released two weeks ago by incoming Dragons coach Shane Flanagan, Sullivan settled on the Tigers after talks with coach Benji Marshall and recruitment boss Scott Fulton on Saturday.

He needs to pass a medical examination before the contract is registered with the NRL.

Despite picking up Sullivan, the Tigers are still going ahead with the signing of veteran halfback Aidan Sezer from the UK Super League.

The 22-year-old Sullivan, who had another two years remaining on his deal with St George Illawarra, is seen as the long-term halfback option following Luke Brooks’ decision to join Manly.

The same "masthead" reported a different figure when he signed. Either that, or he only played for below minimum wage of 100k this year.

Good news is, we have suddenly become the Roosters where players sign up for one figure, but are worth a lot more than that in the cap when they leave.

I hope Chammas gets (non fatally and non badly hurt) punched in the headache this weekend. Then loses his job like Paul Kent.

Same applies to all board members.

Remember, to be on a board, one must be bored in life with nothing to do. Quite evident in our case.

wish bud all the best to be honest, think he will do well with a few indigenous boys around him, has handled himself very professionally and always spoke well of the club

batemen isnt digging his heels in
he knows he has a contract here and would much rather be elsewhere

souths saw him as a bench player, wants a starting gig

How does Bateman think he will start at the Cowboys ahead of Nanai and Luki ?
