Well benji and Richo , LODGE is back on the market , he can fix our lock spot right here , move may to lock and lodge to prop , now that really gives us some size in the pack , may can play big minutes and has a great off load , lodge is just a meat head , just what we need , think our top eight would look a lot better with more mongrel in it
 
Hasn't Fat Bludge just taken on a Train and Trial or something like that at St.George?

I'm not sure if he'd consider coming back here after being shown the door anyway.

Yep - That news came out over the Weekend.

The news when I posted the comment that you replied to was that he's signed Train and Trial with the Dragons....

News changes I guess.

we can sit here 12 months later and look back and think how stupid Penrith were, but at the time they were playing into that narrative to try and save themselves some cap.

we can be thankful that they undervalued him in the manner that they did. everything went our way.

We are all happy that the stars aligned for us jr at the time didn't think we had any chance of signing him happy that the riff low offer tipped the scale in our favour.

I'm putting my hard earned on that we'll save spot 30 for either a very good backrower that falls from the tree or Taylan May if he becomes available (i.e. not guilty & cleared by NRL) or one of our T&T/rookies that blows it off the park.

Tigers would more likely suffer more with api on rep duty
Api also signed to play under Madge so I’d expect there’s respect between the two
If anything you could say that he feels sorry for the tigers and didn’t select him but I don’t think there’s truth to that either
Imo he picked a better defender relying on the rest of the spine to create

No, our top 30 is already prop heavy. Not to mention we have some decent props who are not even in our top 30 and on reserve grade contracts. We have much bigger needs in the squad which should be priority for the last spot.

I'd rather have Koroisau than not, but leave the superlatives out of it. He is a player that leads ON the field, and that's it. He admits it himself that he hasn't been comfortable with the main leadership role in the sheds for the past couple of seasons, and has struggled with it.

The role of mentor which was one of his motivations for returning to the Panthers for the second time. He has said the Panthers had such a talented group of players who in his opinion are easier to play with and mould. I don't doubt he has had a similar impact on many of our younger players as he did at the Panthers. Being a mentor extends off the field as well.

first and foremost it was about defensive technique. Api could only dream of making the impact defensively Robson did. some of his contact and efforts to scramble were top shelf. Api can make a good tackle, but he can't defend the way Robson does.

in attack it was all about clean, crisp service to bring that massive back five and the pack onto the ball. again, Api's got good service, but is as good as Robson's? not a chance.

even though I think Api is the much better attacking hooker, it was the right call for the style of football they wanted to adopt. if Api's to be picked again I'd say there's a fair chance it'll be as a bench hooker.

Terrell and Samuela are our bolters for this year's side I think. will be interesting to see what Daley does if Moses, Luai and Cleary are all fit.
