I think they have been taking advice off the Tea Lady for the past 3 years when discussing Talent ID and Team Selection within our NSW Cup space.

We jizz all the time about our juniors. Maybe let's realise our juniors are average. We talk them up a little too much

I imagine if all our juniors were playing in their respective age teams we’d be going much better.

That has always been the case. They all get talked up to the enth degree.
Take this Makasini kid. He is MILES and MILES and MILES away from top grade yet some reckon he’ll debut this year.
If he does, we are in a world of hurt.
We simply pay the kids too much not to play them.
Been that way forever (Sheens started it in 03)
What have our juniors got to do with our poor NSW Cup results, todays team had 4 juniors starting and one on the bench, the rest were recruits.
If we had a team of only our own juniors they would not be going any worse.
The point is it is our Recruitment/Talent ID, Coaching and Player Development that is the problem, not our juniors.
Obviously our juniors aren’t good enough. Hard to figure out with huge catchment.

Don't get too carried away with the gross numbers from the pathways. The key is to identify the serious NRL prospects from the hundreds who won't make it and there'll only ever be a few. From the whole of the famed Penrith catchment, I think on Cleary, To'o, Tago and McLean are actual Penrith born and bred. Maybe Smith and Kenny. I understand there's a few now playing elsewhere but it's rare to have more than a few home grown juniors in one NRL team unless you fluke a few brothers like Manly.
We have some of juniors playing and doing well at other clubs, some who were not wanted by us and 99% of our NSW Cup recruits over the past couple of years have offered nothing.
Recruitment/Talent ID, Coaching and Player Development outside of your NRL Team is crucial to every teams success, we are getting this badly wrong at the moment.

At the moment they are, we need to remember, it's only been a little over 12 months since the club under Richardson's vision has really started to target the Macarthur / Campbelltown region, it'll take about 4 - 5 years for the production line to start churning out good reliable juniors ready to make the step up. I say only over 12 months cause let's be honest prior to Richo arriving the Wests Tigers survived through dumb luck with some of the muppets we had running the joint.
We also had 5 players last night in the NRL team that could still be playing Jersey Flegg, and 4 of them could be playing SG Ball. That all has a flow on.

Where has Tom Amone gone ?
Do you think they would replace Toby Sexton with Galvin ?
Sexton is a genuine halfback who seems to keep improving and his kicking game is very good, he would be a good replacement for us if Galvin didn’t want to stay long term.

Is that what the other clubs do?-------------How unfair.
Maybe we need to take note and then maybe we develop a happy culture where they want to stay together and play together as a team? Just dreaming!
Maybe we need to poach some successful talent scouts and coaches before we chase mediocre players?
