Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

That ultimatum in the article last week, me or Koroisau, was very poor. How does interest from other clubs, headed by the Eels, manifest itself? Prioritise Haywood as Koroisau's successor. The club and supporters deserve better than this as does Koroisau, imo the best hooker in NSW.
I half think he’s in ressies because he’s gone. Naden doesn’t make sense to me.

Gould is protected and he knows it and so does everybody else. There has always been one rule for Gould and NIck P and there are the other rules for everybody else to fall into line on.

Until West Tigers invest properly in their Junior development programs then this merry go round is always going to happen. Yes under Richardson there has been a step in the right direction but there know needs to be serious dollars poured into the club. Campbelltown potential has only been scratched, there are plenty of scouts from the storm, st george and souths constantly looking, asking the questions but we still do not see enough of the Tigers people in the area, in the schools.

All staff in my former employment were required to sign annual declarations about conflict of interest. Staff also were required to complete mandatory online courses yearly about conflict of interest as a requirement of employment. That is why I am shocked a GM of a competing football club is allowed to have an influential role in the media which includes commenting upon the internal happenings within a competing club about a player who he has an interest in signing.

If we extend Koroisau, I don't blame Da Silva one bit for wanting out.

He's a talented kid and wants to be starting for a team, which I think in the next couple of years, he absolutely will be good enough to do so.

Expecting him to stay to sit on the bench / in reserves and be happy with it is delusional.

I got to say, Des Haslier is damn smart.

Looking at the origin team list, I became bemused at the Titans getting 3 players in the side. Sure Tino probably gets a mention, then I realised what Des was doing.

Des knows he doesn't have the halfves or backs to drive the team forward so he builds his forward pack.

Meaning next year when he gets the halfback he wants (or at least a consoldiation prize) he will have the forward pack to have them do something. Contrast that with the tigers, 3 spoons and never once did we frontload or use the time wisely.
Titans & Dolphins are way closer than people give credit for

I've seen a few mentions of Skelton's injury history. Obviously I know he's had a couple hamstring issues this year. Has he had persistent problems previously?
I believe so. I don't think he's a bad signing. But essentially, we need a guy to rotate with him in case of injury.

But Api would realistically only sign on for a couple of years so perfect timing for your scenario

He would instantly be the best centre at the club, and that's even considering he's not match fit.
You severely underestimate how shit our back stocks are

It's not worth it for this club. You'd be swapping on-pitch liabilities with off pitch ones, which are worse.

He's not experienced enough to just turn it back on again, I don't think he's ever played more than 8 first games matches in a row in his career, and when he has played that long its been on the wing as part of the great team of the last 20 years. Look at how roided up Naden and Staines' stats are after stints on the wing for Penrith. Don't we learn anything?

He's only played 8 games of his career at Centre and that was after Crichton's departure, and that batch of games included losses to the Knights, Manly and the Cowboys. He's scored one try in his career as a centre. The amount of time between May's best showings for Penrith and today are pretty much the same amount of time between when James Roberts making his origin debut and said player joining Wests Tigers.

There are things that you learn as a pro after doing something 80+ times instead of 8. That's what this club needs in that position.

Excellent analysis. I enjoyed reading it.

"Tallyn loves the Tigers - this isn't a Lachlan Galvin-type situation," Tartak emphasised.

"It's up to the Tigers to decide what they want to do but if Api stays, chances are Tallyn will have to go."

Think we will be seeing Hope take one of those top 30 places...

Tallyn walks into a few sides, but he is far from the finished product. It's a shame he doesn't see the benefit of sharing the load and learning from Api (albeit they are very different players) for the next year or 2.

The club and pathways need to take some responsibility for the sense of entitlement displayed by our juniors.

Wasn't it Gould who said Da Silva was ready to start in the NRL? Did he say that as GM of Football for a club which competes with WTs or, as a commentator for Ch9? Again what policies are in place relating to conflict of interest at the Bulldogs, Ch9 and the NRL?

Andrew Johns also said that is the Roosters sign DCE the young halves Smith and Savala will have to leave - Because they're ready for Weekly NRL.

Now,
Did he say that because the Knights have had no halves for the last 3+ years,
And he works with the halves at the club?

Find anything in the NRL media that anyone in the NRL media says, About anyone in the NRL
- And you can draw a line directly to an allegiance literally 99% of the time.
If you can be bothered...

Goulds been the boss of a club for a very long time, And in the media even longer...
Why is it only a problem now that he's signing a few players.
Didn't seem to be an issue at Panthers when he built half the star players in the comp.

We should have signed Hassett when we had the chance. So many on the forum didn't want him because they thought he was 'undersized'. He's always been a talent and as I said almost a year ago, he's essentially the same size as Liam Martin. Unfortunately we're stuck with Seyfarth as a starting second rower.

Unfortunately it might be too late, as it looks like he might become a regular in the Penrith squad. Hassett, KPP, Taylan May and Tyrone would be 4 ideal signings which would address our weaknesses in the starting side, bench and depth.

We really need to stop judging players on their appearance and actually look at their performances and what skills/attributes they offer to the starting side. Hope we can somehow jag him still with KPP (Samuela, KPP and Hassett would be great), but if not it's onto the next.
Where were all these comments prior to last week? Hassett scores a try and people come from everywhere. Would love to know how many times his name was mentioned on here in the 3 months prior to last week vs since last Sunday. My guess is it's the latter.

Playing 30 minutes of first grade in a team getting pumped doesn't prove anything. Not convinced yet that he is any better than Sukkar and he's a depth player at most clubs.

Seyfarth is only starting second rower because we took too long to get rid of Bateman and didn't have time to get a replacement. KPP addresses this.
