Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Wasn't there a clause that he couldn't talk about the whole thing?

Or is it talked up for views and it will be a tame chat about his future at the dogs for PR.

I would imagine Gus will do the questionning and this will be very coached. He will thank the club and talk about how great Benji was and how he hopes we do really well going forward. And how he is excited with his new move etc. Expect a lot of mayo on this one and nothing juicy.

The last members injury report has them both for round 14 but that came in the bye week
I saw a report pop up saying rd 15. And nobody mentioning it's a hammy for Latu anymore...I'm hearing complications from the broken thumb are delaying his return. I do agree that the club are not handling the flow of information very well.

I doubt he will even mention the Tigers except in passing.

that’s what i thought
He won’t be talking specifics.
He’ll likely say;
  1. He likes Benji and never said he can’t coach,
  2. He didn’t really get to form a stable partnership with Luai, but respects him as a player and leader,
  3. He was over whelmed by how much the story blew up, but thanks the people who did support him,
  4. He is excited by the move to Belmore
  5. Can’t wait to put this all behind him and take the field.

I read that here like a month ago….
And quite obviously he is not accepting our 600k offer, otherwise we would already have it confirmed.
It’s a well known fact that KPP and Dom Young are close mates, so with Dom Young likely heading back to the Knights, I’d say it’s fair chance KPP will also be staying.
I get the feeling Richo doesn’t like using players as leverage to sign others, which if correct is not how we should be approaching our recruitment.
The sensible approach would have been tj resigning both KPP and Dom Young tj get the KPP deal across the line and to also add a 6 foot 5 winger who is possibly the fastest player in the NRL and would score 20 plus tries per season with the righty service inside him.
Sign Taylan May not only fit his own ability, but to also assist our prospects of extending his brother who’s form gas been our biggest highlight so far this season.

the non-disparagement clause won’t allow him to ‘tell all’.

I would hope we can look to sign any of the following with a few needing to get a release but it can happen as we know

Tuku Hau Tupuha - Sharks 2026
Trey Mooney - Raiders 2027
Griffen Neame - Cowboys 2025
Josh Kerr - Dolphins 2025
KPP - Knights 2025 - I think he can unlock the attack with our centres as he gets his hands free and is a decent defender
Jack Hetherington - Knights 2025 - Nutcase hard defender
Fletcher Baker - Broncos 2025
Taylan May - Centre / Winger

Isn’t KPP on 700k now? Not a lot of players come to the Tigers for less money…I think he’ll make his own call independent of Young ..as Young did to him …. rumours are that the Knights have offered like 400k and are out of the running…I also think Richo knows how to get a player signed ,,,he has been doing it 30 years

Dom dropped him to go to the Rorters so why would KPP hang around for him. It's also obvious Knights are not offering him much to stay, I heard $500k, so a $200k haircut. Newcastle is not that far from Sydney anyway if they want to get together and talk about the miserable weather back home.
