Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

- you sign both of them and see a young kid that the club is the best place for him to be and learn. Keep him hungry and get him playing as good as he can, and on the correct path to a long NRL career.

Like every other club does with their good 20 yr olds!!
The issue is the too much too soon promises teflon and wazza gave all those kids . None of them are keen to hang around and wait . I don’t know what they did but whatever the coaches and club did to those kids , pretty much do the opposite moving forward . As they’re all entitled . From Tumeth to matamua , to Voldemort and now TDS . I don’t blame those kids . I blame the adults around them .

The priority should be TDS. Love Api but he’s going to start slowing down soon.

I’d understand prioritising Api IF we were in a premiership window. We won’t be competing for the premiership in 25’ or 26’.

Realistically we won’t be competing for a premiership until 2027+. By then Api will on his last legs and TDS will be gone. Then what? Haywood? There’s still a question mark if he will even be an NRL player.

We should be looking to re-sign TDS and loaning him for 2026. When 2027 comes he will be 22 and in his 5th NRL season. He will be ready to start by then.

It’s amazing how quick the WT’s attention can turn…
Isn’t this the kid we rated so highly we named him captain in a trial?
I know, it’s only a trial - but he’s also only a kid and this is his junior club.

Surely 4 months later we still think more of him than this…
Agree it's strange, but in the same trials a lot of forumers were writing him off completely.

Then he’d want to become an Australian citizen first to get Albos tax breaks and take full advantage of all the incentives.

The minimum wage in png is less than AUD $11 a day, a bit over $4k per annum.

Let’s say he hits average nrl wage, he’s on close to 90 times the minimum, the Aussie equivalent of $4.5m.

It’s probably unsafe for him in Port Moresby, so him and his family may have to live in the NRL compound or build one and hire security.

Anyway, we will need to look after him properly here. Keep him away from Satan and from NRL gangsta life.

Need a translator as well I’d fancy.

Get the translator to impress upon him that we are the greatest rugby league club in history and all good things like that.

He’s very welcome.
Well James Graham has hung around and I am pretty sure a few of the burgess bros have stayed.

You get a 4 year contract you can get PR. Heck it's PNG and as you say, min wage is $11 a day! (Most places don't pay that, many don't even pay).
