Last heard we’ve upped our offer to 400k.
It's not 1965 anymore. 30 is not retirement age in the first grade anymore. Look at form, not age.Good in way of stability, just hope we didn’t pay overs for an ageing player.
Yes Api often looks tired now such as on the weekend against the Titans. It's not 1965 anymore. 30 is not retirement age in the first grade anymore. Look at form, not age.
Your posts concern me. Perhaps you are also getting too old to post? How will they look in 27 and 28??Yes Api often looks tired now such as on the weekend against the Titans.
How he will look by 2027 and 2028 is a big concern.
If you haven’t noticed age catches up with everyone.Your posts concern me. Perhaps you are also getting too old to post? How will they look in 27 and 28??
Don’t get suckered in BWG, the story is deliberately vague with the intention of creating destabilisation and drama to feed cycle of negative WT press. If it is true, the 3 who seem the most likely are AD, Twal & Seyfarth.
I'm concerned that you are always concerned. If you haven’t noticed age catches up with everyone.
Very few players get better when approaching their mid 30’s and it doesn’t get any easier for a small bodied hooker defending the middle as his body gets older and slower.
As I say, I realise we re-signed him for stability and leadership, but the contract value has not yet come out. We shouldn’t be paying an ageing Api anymore than 600k maximum, but I have a gut feeling we have paid more than that.
I wouldn't go within cooee of Hetherington, he ain't going change his ways at this stage of his career. Knights don't want him for good reason. Last thing the Tigers need is another mistake riddled player with shocking discipline. You are right, the cupboard is virtually bare with players that could improve us for season 2026.
- Corey Jensen is a good seasoned, tough toiler, but doesn’t have any real impact and now in his 30’s I’m not sure he’s any better than Alex Twal or Alex Seyfarth.
- Ethan Bullemor offers something different in way of hitting top speed with his ball carries very quickly. Quite a few on this forum have mentioned him as someone who would be an ideal recruit and I agree, BUT he’s managed by Isaac Moses so that could be a problem,
- Josh Papali’i now in his mid 30’s which is a concern. I just can’t see him being interested in coming to Wests Tigers unless we pay him big money and we realistically cannot afford to pay anyone big money for limited minutes.
- Josh Kerr has been great the past 2 seasons and provides very good impact. On face value he would be a great signing, but I’ve heard him openly say he’s happy and settled and really doesn’t want leave Brisbane.
- Felise Kaufusi is getting a bit old and injury proned.
- Davvy Moale is a good up and coming prop. I’m very surprised he has not already been be-signed by the Rabbitohs and think he’d be a very good signing if we could land him at a reasonable cost,
** As suggested by The Chad many times, Jack Hetherington is another currently off contract player who could add some value for a couple of seasons being a different body shape to what we currently have, he runs the ball strongly, plays with plenty of aggression and would add genuine competition to our too 17 forwards rotation. Discipline is his problem, could we coach good discipline into him at this late stage of his career ?
100%Could not agree more. Our backs are top 8 level if playing behind a good pack, buy they're not. I reckon we need 3 forward additions at quality first grade level plus KPP who has already signed.
According to reports this is for the remainder of 2025 so he could be back at the Eels in 2026.Ryan Matterson off to the Superleague immediately.
