Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Have no idea what the appeal of these two jackasses are.
Then here's something that will further confuse you.
Fletch and Hindy are doing a "show" around the local clubs.
I was given tickets to one at Revesby Workers a couple of weeks ago, and the auditorium was packed. I'll guess at 250-350 people. $50 odd a ticket.

Good for the Rabbitohs, they will go from last to too 4 next season with not so many injuries and one added strike.
What a back row Cameron Murray, David Fifita and Tallis Duncan.
We can only wish we had something half that good.

He would be no different here than at the GC …we need guys a bit more self motivated

Only 2 of 7 board appointments get voted by members of the club. A group of 18 or so debenture holders nominate and appoint the remaining 5 board seats. Even if you rose to the top and got voted in by the members, you would be vetoed on basically everything.

Member voting for HBG is for show only. The real power sits with these 18 debenture holders. There is no democratic process.

The power struggles and the recycling of the same people on the HBG board is a direct result of this debenture system. There are only 18 to choose from and they each have their allegiances.

That's why that discount musician Burgess keeps getting in there.
This is one of the worst things I have heard in my entire time following the Tigers.

So the fate of our club is in the hands of 18 people whom are not elected, not accountable, not visible and who have no track record of success.

Oh shit. This explains sooo much

why does every thread DETERIORATE into the hbg abcdefgghij magpies v tigers crap. really deteriorates the quality of the forum. go to your own thread. if mods are short i am happy to volunteer. then a few days ago this became the dumping ground for political crap. we come here to gert away from that stuff. post your juicy rumours.. make them up if you really want to post here , but leave the off topic stuff elsewhere PLEASE

If Fifita is indeed going to Souths, that must free up a couple of Rabbitohs players, I imagine.

Havili has been mentioned & is a good option short term.

Maybe shakes Euan Aitken free?

That's a lot of middles to have. Kaloamatangi, Tatola, Moale, Murray, Arrow, Duncan, Hubner, Brandon Smith...

Jacob Host is off contract as is Thomas Fletcher. Host would add depth at worst to the backrow already. Fletcher is a tall type of back rower that could be developed.

We have been linked to him before, I wonder if Sean Keppie becomes redundant to the club? We don't have too many guys of his size. He is a reasonably firey type of player- could be a low risk addition for a big body (6'3" 110kgs)

Mate, you seem to be mistaking the League Club grant with what the footy club actually does with it. The salary cap currently sits at 12.1 mill and the NRL grant is 18 mill.

Winning three wooden spoons comes down to what the footy club has done with the dosh.

You wax lyrical about the massive advantage Canterbury has because of a greater Leagues Club grant yet the Bulldogs last premiership was a year before ours. You’ve also pointed out that Parramatta are awash with cash yet look at their on field record over the past few decades.

You are obsessed with blaming HBG for all our ills.

But of course - the common consensus here will be we’ve only been winning wooden spoons because of Denny Burgess and his mad arsed hairstyle 🥴
It has been HBG and all other stake holders fault. How can an owner of anything involved with sport sit back and allow 14 years of absolutly no success, multiple attempts to rebuild the squad resulting in busted salary caps, disgruntled current and ex players, multiple successfull coaches coming and going with out any noticeable improvement, leaks like the titanic, boardroom in fighting for 25 years. And sit there the whole time trying to fix it yet every attempt you have made has failed over the past 14 years which is proof in and of itself that you don't know what your doing. In terms of the funding you don't need to be a genius to know were underfunded, its common sense after 14 years of no success to think you know what maybe I need to throw money at the Tigers so they can bring in the best and brightest in their respective fields to turn it around, set up more pathways than we have to bring more kids in we can choose from. No why ask it's just the coach's fault. Players fault. Fans fault for not becoming members. Campbelltown councils fault cause the stadium is old. HBG and all other owners were totally incompetent and have no idea what they're doing. They approached Gus who agreed to come as long as we paid him $1 more than our highest paid player. They refused. Complete imbeciles who only use the Tigers as a personal play thing. Wests Campbelltown, Balmain and HBG are all totally clueless we know this cause they were forced to merge, if they had a clue they wouldn't have needed to. They were useless and braindead then, they're still useless and braindead now, our fantastic owners.

You know something...tomorrows game is quite a dealbreaker
We get lapped by 40...as current form suggests we will....and Galvin is MOM...and Benji starts to get really ,really pressured.
iF we pick up the spoon///its game over for Benji
Were probably somewhere in between atm ..awkward..
Im for Cheika btw..great motivator...2 years only..massive impact wherever he goes...but a little one dimensional and commensurate wear out factor
Cheika is not a Nrl coach for mine , i’m happy with Benji’s coaching although he has a fair way to go

Keppie is really scraping the barrel. KoE contract at best.

I know we have tried to keep things in house, but there are so many leaks out there with managers, I find it really interesting with the amount of decent depth forward signings (our biggest issue) we have not heard something.

Guys like Baker, Jensen, Kerr, Mark Nicholls, Afoa, Elliot, Frizell, Hassett, Mooney, Talakai, Fermor are all big up grades on many of our players we have rolled out this or who are in contention for forward spots. We need a bit more competition for spots in the forwards. Personally, I would feel much better if we signed 3 or so of those guys on that list at good value than someone overpriced/bigger money
