Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

How far along was it when they finally caught it? How long do you have to undergo treatment?

A good few months longer than it should have, and I got dismissed along the way by the specialist.
I had major surgery in May then had 8 weeks recovery and now into my 5th cycle of 12 for chemo which will be roughly 6 months of week on week off treatments.

All too common in Australia these days. The GP's want you in and out with no script, no tests, just their medicare money and a 6 minute consultation. Much easier to write sick notes on a Monday without any risk. The specialists are know all smart asses and don't take you seriously. The system is becoming a joke. Some good docs out there of course, but lots of poor quality care nowadays.

Not the system it once was and sorry to hear you were dismissed.

Anyone remember the name of the bloke who used to post on here a while ago with all the inside info? People thought he knew Pascoe or something. Wonder where he's gone off to

He's 19. At least let him have a shot first in his preferred position.

I get the sentiment about him fading in and out of games, but he's probably not confident in himself yet to be calling plays over Luai yet.
Otherwise known as the Luke Brooks method. Keep playing a bloke at 7 over and over and over again hoping he'll come good eventually

I am thankful that my local GP was on the ball - I went to see him for a certificate for work for a golf injury and he advised to have a xray. That cleared me any ligament damage but showed a lesion on the lung. 48 hours later he had me seeing specialists and was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer - which was a shock as I have never been a smoker and never worked anywhere near dust, coal or asbestos etc. About 20% of new cases of this disease have a similar history.

I'm totally shocked at how many of the gang on the forum have been affected by it. With all the arguing and banter on here every day I would never have guessed. It's blown me away that so many can be suffering yet not let on. Honestly we need a dedicated thread just for the guys and girls to go to if they need advice or are afraid or just need someone to talk to. I know it's a league forum, but above that we are a community and as a community we will always support eachother. Fingers crossed you get the all clear soon mate, iv never been touched by it but from some of the stories iv heard the side fx can be horrendous from the treatment. Pm me if you ever need a yarn. Same with anyone else who's going through something, just pm me if you need a yarn, doesn't need to be cancer can be anxiety, a bit of depression anything. Don't be shy.

Stop what you’re doing now and go and get it checked out.
The sooner they get it the better.

I had strange symptoms that were easily passed off as indigestion or whatever. Meanwhile a cancer was growing up and around my pancreas. The surgeon said it was like it had grown arms and legs and was bear hugging my pancreas, oh and it’s grab onto your main artery too. 18 months if ya lucky.
Due to the these Doctors and chemo, that some knuckleheads wanna bag, I am alive 2,5 years and counting, 9% will make it to 5 years and I am making plans for more.

Go and get it checked out, and get a second opinion to be sure. Quite often the miss diagnose, we are all human. It sounds like a pain in the ass, but ya ass don’t hurt when ya dead.

Let me know how ya go, and as others have said if you wanna, PM me.
Thanks champion. I am too much of a pussy to find out.

The comp has got too big too quickly imo
But even so the roosters are a stacked side even though the salary cap is small for the women.
Not sure but I think some nrlw still work jobs in the off-season
The roosters players are all employees of the club . My guess is with a strong work/ life balance ie. you don’t have to turn up to work lol … maybe the gym !
