Yet people want the big lumbering lump over here on some inflated amount of money to sit most of the year on the sideline.Like Melbourne tolerates NAS? The bloke is suspended more then he's on the field.

Gone cold on NAS, absolute liability. Gets sin binned, suspended and gives away penaltiesYet people want the big lumbering lump over here on some inflated amount of money to sit most of the year on the sideline.
reminds me of nas, brain explosions
done 🔒Anybody have an update on Taylan May extending ?? Getting very nervous waiting on this ,, would be very much on brand for us to somehow stuff this up .. old tigers brand that is Fedora and Pascoe vintage
nas is also on $900k and seyfarth would be on pennies, he’s an ok depth playerThat’s the only similarity between the two. NAS doesn’t get folded in attack and defence like that useless pillow, Seyfarth, does.
He’s seen better days. His laziness is getting worse, his poor discipline is getting worse and the quality of his ball running is reducing.Yet people want the big lumbering lump over here on some inflated amount of money to sit most of the year on the sideline.
The best props in the game are 25 plus right now …. I think you’re arguing what I argued a while back that the shelf life for an elite prop is like 5-7 years of being at the top . So basically 2 elite contracts , if you’re lucky . Like an NFL running back . Ages pre 21 learn your craft . 21-24 hone your craft , 24-25 plus elite phase of your career ,30-32 Elder statesman / depth player , 32plus a couple of years in super league . Not very long …It's a very outdated ideology to think that props don't come good until their mid 20s. In reality, by their late 20s most props are done. Very few continue at a high level into their 30s. Props reach their peak by about 23 these days
Some people do not understand that fit, hard working forwards are required in every rugby league team.nas is also on $900k and seyfarth would be on pennies, he’s an ok depth player
Gronk-Dog is betterGronk is such a good word, it describes people like balmainboy so well
Kanaan confirmed at PenrithI was told yestrday that we have lost two great young juniors that weren't even offered a contract. Cameron Kanaan and Mark Tannous. Kannan is going to the Penrith and Tannous is going to the Sharks. There is a big issue that we have in losing great young talent that has been grown in our backyard. I know a few people on here don't like it when I go on about our juniors, but because I have seen my son play against some of these kids that we have had but its a disaster that our club drop the ball here. These kids weren't even offered a chance to stay but get identified and signed by others clubs, it seems it be a trend now.
The list of them not even offered a contract players like Aiden Gow scored over 15 tries for the Knights in SG Ball, Alex Conti signed to an NRL deal with the Dogs and has been killing it in Jersey Flegg, Mikey Nasser was the leading try scorer for the Roosters and they won the SG Ball comp this year, Cameron Kannan who has been impressive and our leading try scorer in Flegg and other years in SG Ball and Matts and Mark Tannous who played a first grade trial earlier in the year and developing really well. How isn't one of these kids offered a contract to stay. I thought things would get better with Shannon Gallant in charge but the list keeps on getting longer. Our Juniors are our life blood we need to keep them as long as we can. Its one thing if they are offered a whole heap of deals from different clubs but for them to leave because they arent wanted the ball is being dropped in a big big way.
You are 💯 correct in saying we desperately need some experienced depth in our outside backs. We need some experienced depth in the backs for next year into our top 30. Currently our backline backups are
Mason -20
Luke L- 19
Makasini -18
None of whom have yet shown they can compete at nrl level.
Be it resigning Naden and Tuitupo or some outside depth with experience we need 2 more outside backs - personally wouldn't mind Tommy Talau and Talakai
It will be an interesting watch as he is an extremely dedicated and fit young player who could really take off in the Panthers system.Kanaan confirmed at Penrith

It really depends on the player. It's a very outdated ideology to think that props don't come good until their mid 20s. In reality, by their late 20s most props are done. Very few continue at a high level into their 30s. Props reach their peak by about 23 these days
The fitter more dedicated athletes sometimes do not really toughen up and become the best version of themselves until they reach their mid twenties and these types of players often have much better longevity because of it.It really depends on the player.
Gallen and Mason played into their late 30's. Russell Packer was done a year in after signing with us. Same with Matalino.
I agree, a lot of props are slowing down late 20's. But not consistently so.
And has unreliable hands. Too many dropped balls usually during a play the ball.Gone cold on NAS, absolute liability. Gets sin binned, suspended and gives away penalties
With Makasini most likely playing NRL next year.. either Toa or Skelton will be outside backs depth next year. You are 💯 correct in saying we desperately need some experienced depth in our outside backs.
I have long been a fan of Brent Naden, I don’t think he ever reached near the heights of what he was capable of, but I’m now seeing signs of him slowing down and I think the timing is right for us to offload him.
Similar with Tui’tupou, he added some real value to our NSW Cup team this season, but he will be 29y.o next season, I think it’s time to give some younger players with bigger potential an opportunity in our NSW Cup team.
I’m not all that keen on Tommy Talau retuning. He has undoubted talent and very good physicality, but he’s just slow for an outside back and we are already slow in the outside backs, we desperately need to find outside backs with more speed.
Talakai would be a great signing, I see him more as an impact power running forward which is also something we need, but his versatility to also cover the backs is just an added bonus. If we offload Jack Bird and replace him with Talakai as our regular number 15, it would be a very good upgrade.
A few others have mentioned Corey Allan and although he’s not overly fast either, he would be my strong preference as a versatile, experienced outside back to add depth and quality to our squad.
Unfortunately I think he will head to the UK as he’s too good to be playing NSW Cup for large parts of the season.
If we cannot add someone like Corey Allan I would be locking up and developing our own Max Taotua.
I think generalising is dangerous. Klemmer was a much better player when he was younger. Taumololo, David Fifita, Aaron Woods, James Tamou...all these players were much better when they were younger. The fitter more dedicated athletes sometimes do not really toughen up and become the best version of themselves until they reach their mid twenties and these types of players often have much better longevity because of it.
