Every day I thank whoever put that deal together. It gives me comfort knowing that I don't have to worry about his contract status. He's there whether we like it or not, and I like it a lot.

I'm saying:

Beggars can't be choosers. By that I mean:
We have Bula and a chance at resigning him.
We don't have a chance at signing Mitchell Latrell or Dylan Edwards (as far as I can tell) or Kennedy for 350k.

Now, I am not knocking Bula, the guy has talent. Several games he was our only dangerous player bar Api.

But he has to participate in organising our defense and get that game management side. It's a hard skill, I am glad we have Hodgson on staff as he knows the role. Although that wasn't his strongest point as FB when he played.

Bula is who we have. Makasini and others haven't really shown that they would be a better fullback. Bula is Decent and good, without yet being Great. Coaching staff you have your work cut out for you.

It wasn’t his strong suit when coaching last time either. I have little faith in Hodgo the coach.

Would you prefer a forward pack full of players who run the ball hard, make a couple of good tackles per game l, but are gassed after 20mins ?
I am continually amazed how so many people disregard players with a strong work ethic and believe a team full of high impact low work ethic players will do.

The smarter clubs would pay the NRLW wife a tad more and save money of the main NRL salary cap.

Were rumours circulating some time back that there was a Sydney Club working their way around a clever way of paying a player more outside the cap and the NRL were investigating how legal it was
(Don't remember the exact commentary on it)
- Was around the same time Bulas wife seemingly came from nowhere and made her way to the NRLW Squad and the above was one of the first things I thought of...

Lol creates good competition for spots. Ideally in my mind we want Seyfarth in Cup ready to step up as required, he is definitely not a starting back rower.

Didn’t we get fined 10 years ago for trying to negotiate the same thing for Robbie?

Pascoe got suspended for six months or something?

Plus I remember Laurie Daley was going to do some work with us and they said it was a conflict of interest due to him working on tv with Fox or something.

We never get the rub of the green with that stuff.
