Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I hope Starford To’a eats a bit of concrete and toughens up, but I’m fearing right centre is going to be very problematic for us this season.
I’m satisfied with Patrick Herbert as a back up right centre option if To’a continues to play in a dinner suit and if we have no other better alternative options.
I’d like to think Taylan May might be open to changing from left centre to right centre if required.
If Taylan could move to the right and Masi at Left centre I'd be stoked

I think (far from certain) he wouldn't qualify for medical payout due to the shoulder being a pre-existing injury when he signed.

Yeah …could be … would make the decision a costly one than because it will come out of the cap .. the NRL seems a little lenient though from what I have observed with others …fingers crossed if he gets a medical retirement

Somebody else mentioned how rugby centres float from side to side all the time. Anybody sighted Big Mac training both sides?
Yep that was me. The backline (bar the opposite winger) generally shift from side to side based on where the ball and ruck is. That's why they have inside and outside centre not left and right centre. The inside centre is generally more of a ball player closest to a 5/8 in league. Masi played outside centre in Jnr Waratahs

If he’s code hopping I’d suggest he’s just a freak of an athlete who can probably handle anything you ask. Gotta be careful not to rush him too much but hopefully he plays a big role this year.

Toa is rocks or diamonds.

Let’s assume he’s injured - likely. Let’s face it, he’s generally pretty shit.

Options are:

Herbert is playing first grade (no likey - I think he’s a cup player)

OR

You could bring Mak into centre and put Skelton on the wing (I don’t like that - yet)

OR

Put Douhei to centre and Latu to 7.

I’d prefer to buy a gun specialist centre and leave Mak on the wing.
JESUS, bite the bullet and give your Logan Brooke’s or the tautotoa brother a run in the centres.. that Logan Brooke’s can play center for sure

I have seen this a few times about Masi. I saw him play several times in rugby, including the Junior Waratahs and Wallabies and each time he was left wing. Large was often in these same rep sides as number 12 (centre)

"Unfortunately, this injury is. chronic [To'a].... it's not getting better while he plays and surgery could make it worse."
"I'd say it's not a matter of IF but when." ------- Thanks INNS.
Wow, for a moment I thought you were talking about Latu.

If storm want pole jnr we arent getting him...mum says so...if they dont want him then we.probably dont want him either- they hang onto good players
Suli was seen training in WT gear last off season. He's more likely to get good money from us than the storm. If we develop the whole brotherly love vibe and have a spot in our top 30 for him we'd have a chance.

Fix mum up with a free home in Sydney and then let her be with both sons

Im not adverse to Pole leaving. He was good last year but not great.

Replaceable. Bunty offers more as does Kit Laulili.
He played half the season injured! Maybe he should have sat out the second half seeing he wasn't fully fit, but he wanted to play for Benji and his mates seeing the club didn't have anyone else

And please, Kit wishes he is half the player Pole is. It's not even remotely close at the moment

I assume this is a Top 30 deal for Herbert.
Waste of a spot. Why bother promoting him? He hasn't earned a one year deal, and definitely not a 2 year deal. If Naden wasn't needed then why is Herbert? They're the same player.

Brookes probably too small for centre for now. Fullback or wing his spots for now
He (Logan Brookes) looks to have added a fair bit of size over the off season.
He doesn’t look very tall, but he is now strongly built and I don’t think it’s a bad idea to at least see how he goes as a right centre.
I’m confident he would handle it well in attack, but like many young centres it would be a big test when defending.
