It is always interesting at the start of the year to speculate on players' potential. It really comes down to drive and motivation to succeed. Who is prepared to put in extra work to improve their games to the extent Marshall and his team take note. Jesse Colquhoun got where he was by not taking shortcuts and being prepared to work hard on and off the field. He's not the most talented player but would be a Fitzgibbon favourite.

Lomax , if we did make a play for him and he came here he def would make us stronger , Wing , Centre , Fullback , actually as some one mentioned on here I think Lomax would be a gun fullback , can jump and take the ball well in the air , he is fast , he is very strong , he has power in his runs to bring the ball back and has plenty heart , offer him $ 850 and he is ahead of Bulla and straight to fullback , I think he also could be a lock , he has the build , strength , and can tackle

If he could not dislodge sloane at FB for the Dragons...not sure if he is a good fit for that position. Very different to center and wing, esp in defense. The guy has never been given a whiff of fullback at Rep and first grade level.

He played a few games there he is not a fullback or centre he's an amazing winger but I don't think he wants to believe it

and so they should - its an inducement pure and simple. and how come melbourne can negotiate a contract prior to a player being released - so much for anti tampering.
 
I don’t know how much he weighs, but I think Christian Taupau-Moors is a lot bigger than what some may think.
I’d say he is around 106-110kgs and is not carrying any excess weight, so it’s a very good size for a tall, aggressive and mobile young prop.
I think the plan is for him to play plenty of NSW Cup this season and if he starts to dominate like he is capable of doing, an NRL debut could come this season.
My only criticism of him is he makes too many half paced ball carries, which is frustrating as he is hard to handle when he runs onto the ball with good momentum.

I was unsure about this initially when you mentioned it, but I do agree now after seeing him properly in an open grade. he needs to work on his acceleration off the mark for sure.

I would say Naden is a better playerand has fewer injury issues but yes getting someone minimum wage allows us to spend more on better players.

In the end the Roosters have Junior Pauga on minimum wage, i'd take Herbert over Pauga.

I’m near certain Naden would have happily stayed with us for another season on the minimum wage.
Nado had a good NRL career, but did not reach anywhere near his potential based on his natural ability.
I’ve seen Patrick Herbert play a few NRL games in beast mode where he was too physical for his opponent in attack and defence, so I’m optimistic he might be able to produce a few more of those games for us if required.

as long as Herbert's jersey 30 next year and we have someone above him on the depth chart, I'm all for it.

Wilson De Courcey would be nice.

If he is the kid I think he is, his 1st or 2nd carry last week was very concerning re low energy early in the game. Seemed to pick up from there
