Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

100% and the club deserves way more credit as they copped a flogging when they released him.. If this was another club the praises would have been flowing in
They copped a flogging because they were talking up these two young guns as our future and then let them walk away from their contracts early before we’d gotten any ROI.

I agree. They actually looked to have better shape than Storm on a number of occasions but turned over too much ball. Their ball players Moses & Walker play with speed deep into the line which is hard to defend. If the possession was 50/50 then its definitely closer.
The storm are amazing at creating ruck speed . Personally the ref had a huge influence on that , with hi never ending 6 agains early on . My biggest issue with 6 agains , is you can’t scrutinise them and assess thier validity . At least 50% of the time you’re asking what was that for .
Say what you will about corruption or whatever , but the real issue is its near on impossible to use it as a learning tool , as you’re spending a lot of time just trusting the ref and the refs boss that X is the causation for Y.
Whereas penalties you can watch the vid and improve . But how do you do that with 6 agains that are really interpretive or speculative . Which means eve more confusion , and claims of bias and corruption.
Like if the ref is pinging you constantly for a behaviour you’re gonna want to eliminate that behaviour

I think its important the club quickly decides who ia the best fullback option out of Attard, Brookes and Tavana. Then commit to their development. I have a feeling Tavana has the best all round game and X factor
Out of those three of say Brookes, Attard, Tavana. But that's as I haven't seen much of Attard yet.
Brookes has pace, support play and has shown some playmaking ability. He's an aggressive guy with a good attitude.
Tavana is an out and out winger to me. He's an excellent finisher and in the air, but he doesn't have the pace, power or skills to contribute outside of finishing.
Attard has pace and support play, attacks the ball b attack and defence which is great, just need to see more of him. Could be number one prospect

I would say Tavana is about 6ft or 183cm tall, but would weigh less than 90kgs which as quite light for a winger these days.
I’ve always likened Tavana to Bula, but he would not be as quick as Bula.
I don’t see Tavana as a genuine NRL contender just yet, but a strong season playing NSW Cup could change that.
I'd say that's about right. Definitely no bigger than that.
And so when you're under average size and don't have that pace or ball playing, and struggle to make yardage he'll have to work very hard in cup to impress. He could be a beau ryan type. He can finish that's for sure, just got to fine tune the rest of his game in Cup this season.

Plenty to like about the depth for future seasons once they've had time to develop a bit.

Random question - what happened to Izaac Tu'itupou?
Picked up a local league contract, i am speculating here, maybe around Lake Macquarie area.

On another forum the Parra fans were giving it to TDS. They can not believe they payed 600k who can only pass one way. Moses is feeding it to him. His confidence would not be high, in the back of his mind if he runs and overplays his hand moses will spray him again. Playing behing an average hooker for the same minutes. Be careful what you wish for. Payed $$$$ to early. Not a first grader until you play 50 games Sheeny used to say and the money will come.

Parra will rebound and be tough as always for Easter Monday. We got owned when we went to Melbourne last year, so did Warriors and a couple other teams.

It’s a huge turn off. I used to watch 4 or 5 games a weekend but now I watch every Tigers game & 1 or 2 others. Most Nrl fans I know don’t like the 6 again rule. I heard V’Landys saying more people watch nrl than ever before but I wonder what the percentage is of those viewers that only watch to see how their fantasy team players score. My wife’s entire family are the perfect example, they would on average really only watch Parra but they all play Super Coach in a family comp & most watch nearly every game now just to watch individual players. I love the Tigers so I will remain a rusted on Nrl fan but it can be frustrating watching a game be decided by officials & not players

I agree. Suoercoach has helped keep me interested in other games. Before that, I would be sick of the footy by sunday

Thanks mate. Probably a family move. Thought we might’ve kept him on a cup contract after breaking into the side last year. No huge loss as I think he was outside a Top 30, but he showed some promise last year. Just seemed to vanish over the off-season.
I think he played well when he played first grade.
Seemed a tough player.

Probably prioritised other players.
