Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Anyone got any updates on how Solomone Saukuru has been developing? We could do with a bit of Center depth and it seems like he has been around for a number of years now , but can’t seem to get a sniff at the big time … looks like he doesn’t even have his own thread in the contracts section 😎
I have some updates.

No updates to report.

Thanks

Mate , what if Bula chooses the saints , I can see them going to 1.1m for him , what if Purdue is another Benji disciple . This idea that the bulldogs have first dibs is not true as of recent history . There’s only 1 player we have been in direct competition with the dogs about that has chosen them over us . And I’m glad that happened .
I can see th dogs and bula linking up because , as long as they roll the red carpet out for Galvin , Bula will be there . It means they have half thier spine for the next 5-7 years .
I’m not a Drinkwater fan per se , but if we need someone for a year or 2 to apply pressure and transition between the young fullbacks we have coming through , and offer a sure thing , I’m ok with that . I think Attard will be an nrl fullback . I think Brookes -Deninger will make nrl ,just not sure if it’s wing or fullback . They both need to hit the gym though .
Brookes Denninger is just a footy player all over.. definitely going to be an NRL player IMO.. I just hope he likes it here and the club brains trust can see that in him ..

I actually don't believe the forum concerns that Dogs are chasing Bula. The only real competition I think is Dragons and to a lesser extent Perth.
As Ive been saying every club has a flavour of the month fall out of favour shortly after. It's nothing unique to Dogs. I dont see anything there that would put Bula off.
Finally from those I know who have had a little to do with him and from how he is spoken about by teammates I don't believe there is any arrogance about Crichton.
Same.. chrichton seems to be admired by all, confident and committed and competitive on the field ,, just how you’d hope an elite player would be

Sure you're not thinking of Metcalf from the Warriors?
Tracey would have been lucky to have missed 3 games last year.
Nup..had an injury and came back too early..wasn't the same player as what we saw last nite
Quite frankly,I'm weary of being d%%#@d over by Moses every time we develop a talent..and Tracey wld do a good job without the baggage.

Find the constant criticism of the character of Crichton very strange. More than a bit of tall poppy about it

If Makasini and May play to potential maybe we could afford to have a does his job type fullback like Tracey, but as things stand Bula offers a pretty unique threat in attack that Tracey in our current system is no where near

Tracey was leading Dally Ms before he cld injured last year..and last nite we saw exactly why
He's totally involved in every play..is there when it counts..including defence
Is smart..and he talks
Sure he has probably hit his ceiling which is pretty good btw and about half the price of bulas ceiling which with his entitled attitude propped up by moses he may never get close to
And take that poisoning manager with him to the Dogs..after all,he's done such a great job with the Eagles..and others
Bula will be half a mill more than Tracey which we cld spend elsewhere
They scored 14 points

He was our best second rower in flegg last year. Scored almost a try a game and scored on debut for Fiji. Has literally played every position but halfback over the past 3 years.

We've got plenty of guys who work hard but struggle to make an impact. He's all impact, so a Bench Forward most likely for now, but he still can't get a look in. We need some players who run hard, aggressive lines with power

He's not an 80 minute forward, but that's ok. I'd extend him for a few more years now. Have no doubt it's he was at the storm he'd score 10-15 tries a season in the NRL in a year or two

Tracey will go back to the Sharks on a cut price deal…a big no for me to the WT to replace Bula….i liked Drinkwater, his game suits our style, if only he could defend

The Wests Tigers are set to move swiftly in a bid to lock in one of their 2025 debutants.

The club is closing in on a contract extension for lock forward Charlie Murray, with a deal between the club and his management understood to be close to finalisation. Murray's rise to the NRL has been anything but conventional, with the forward earning his opportunity last season after years of grinding through rugby league's development systems.

The 24-year-old spent time in the systems of the Gold Coast Titans and Melbourne Storm before breaking through with the Tigers in 2025, initially arriving on a train-and-trial deal.

After making his debut in Round 14, Murray went on to feature multiple times and quickly established himself as a reliable option in the club's forward rotation.

He has carried that momentum into 2026, impressing throughout the pre-season and strengthening his case for a bigger role.

Murray's agent Kif Chowdhury told ESPN the forward's journey highlights the value of persistence.

"Charlie's career is a great example of what can happen when someone refuses to give up on their dream," Chowdhury said.

With discussions now progressing towards completion, the Tigers look set to reward one of their most hard-earned success stories.

What I find frustrating is that there is a six again call almost every set. Back in the day, penalties weren’t blown every set. So why six agains? I suppose players are buggered cos the powers that be have insisted that the game be played at supersonic speed. It’s really sad how much damage PVL has done to the fabric of the game. It might have been a little thing, but how good was it, when the crowd would be baying for a penalty, then the ref would oblige, he’d blow his whistle and that feeling of exhilaration. Didn’t seem like much back then, but looking back, how good was it. That’s gone now. You don’t get the same reaction for a ref waving his arm, mid set. It’s not the same. This isn’t the game I grew up with.

Hard to believe the club forgot about Terrell with all of the resignings they are making.

If this is like the others it'll be a deal for a few years. Perhaps Perth and PNG forcing our hand?
