Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Webster has much more leeway, hes not deperate for jobs and players. He is a smart operator, he wont take Moses scraps, he looks to develop internally. Under Webster, the warriors have made less external signings than any other club. Fisher Harris and RTS are the only notables and they were due to other circumstances.

Barnett, Ford, Erin Clark and Metcalfe are the other 4 and all of those guys were unwanted and Webster personally identified them. Look at all four of them now...

I have said this and will continue to say this, if something were to happen to Benji and i could pick any coach to take over the WT long term, my first choice would be Andrew Webster, and i will die on that hill. Andrew Webster is everything the rugby league media pretend Ciraldo is.

The player who said to me two years ago that he was glad Webster is finally getting the credit he deserves instead of Ciraldo taking all the credit at Penrith as assistant was a Penrith origin player and he still is an origin player and I posted that in. Here two years ago and he gave the impression that he didn't like Ciraldo but loved Webster

His face to face interview was super impressive for me. Great communicator.

As others have alluded to, Sukkar has been very good in all 3 of our NSW Cup games this season and looks a much improved player.
I wouldn’t be writing Will Craig off either, he’s been breaking plenty of tackles and looks strong and fast. His defence and catching high balls are a concern, but he could improve in these areas.
given you’ve got a pretty clear read on both of them andtracking NSW Cup form pretty closely.

what’s the actual cutoff for “developing” vs just being where they are?

Because at the moment it reads as:
Sukkar > improving
Craig > improving, with concerns, but also improving

So both trending up. Just at different speeds. Or different standards. Which is fine.

Just trying to work out where you draw the line between patience and decision.

Or if the plan is to let time sort it out. Nothing wrong with that either.

If we're serious then Craig is lucky to make the Flegg side. Small, not very fast poor in defence and worse in the air. He's got a bit of skill but in reality he's struggling to make our Flegg squad when everyone is fit.

You're saying that Craig’s got traits. Just not enough of them, often enough, in the areas that matter?

Are we just calling it early on Craig? Because that reads less like “development” and more like… a ceiling.

Which is fine.

Just not the version we were being sold a few posts ago by Vicious. Funny how quickly the language tightens when you remove hope.

His ceiling is Jersey Flegg. If his agent hadn't swindled an NRL contract out of our previous management then he'd be outta here this year.

We have much better prospects who we should be focusing our limited resources on. Lanyon for one.

Some people like to sugar coat everything rather than be realistic. Craig is a long long way behind the likes of Laulilii, tavana, Skelton , Saukuru, Brookes. Not all juniors kick on, he's one that won't in all likelihood
