Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

an appetite from both parties to bring s blore back to the club, not saying it will happen but a discussion has been had , has a few parties interested

from memory his wife rinsed the club on instagram
Melbourne haven’t signed him cause he wants big coin and they are not prepared to give him… if he comes across not more than $400-$500 k… which he wouldn’t take

It’s gunna be what’s it’s gunna be with Averillo … looks like the decision has been made so we will just have to hope it works out for the best .. he won’t be the 6 I wouldn’t imagine unless he is the best option … which to me is not a given
How are you today?

Thanks for the intel once again 'kade7'. I for one would take Shaun Blore back in a heartbeat. He is a big body and injury free can plug a hole when KPP and Sam are out. We didn't see the best of him here due to ongoing injuries. Solid defender and knows the WT culture. If we can convince his partner, this could be a good pickup. We could nab him at reasonable $. All of a sudden, we could end up being the Club that players want to return to instead of the last chance wooden spoon chorale. Think AD & Jock, both boomerangs!
Good back-up for KPP and Sam F.

Suli and Leilua are interesting topics of conversation.
Yes both have had issues with being labelled lazy trainers and backing that up with lazy on field displays during their career and yes both are unwanted by the Dragons who have only just won their first game of the season.
However anyone who has watched all of the Dragons games this season will tell you they have generally been in their top 3 players each time they have played.
When on their game they are both extremely powerful and aggressive ball runners who can rapidly swing momentum in their teams favour.
I aim not sure about Suli’s current fitness levels, but he has not been dropped from NRL in a long time, so playing under a hard task master in Shane Flanagan, you would assume he no longer has the poor attitude and fitness issues he had in his younger days.
Luciano Leilua come into this season ripped and fitter than he has ever been.
It’s probably unlikely we show any interest in either of them and even if we did, their cost probably rules us out, but if we are being fair dinkum, both would improve our top 17 if they were on our books.
Although totally opposite types of players, I would personally prioritise Jake Averillo ahead of Suli, but Suli is 100 miles ahead of the likes of To’a and Herbert or even Turuva or Makasini as a centre at this stage of their careers.
Luciano would not start in our back row ahead of Samuela Fainu or KPP, but all full strength I reckon he would be very beneficial tj is potentially starting at 13 moving Twal to starting prop, or as an interchange impact forward. The big bonus would be him being a great replacement edge back rower when we have injuries such as we do with Samueka at the moment.
Moses Suli, sorry no way.

Yes playing wise, he is what we need in the centers.
Attitude wise. No way.

Benji has enough ego's in the team. Make his job easier, not harder.

Could be a Blore/Pole swap so that Pole plays with his brother....

Otherwise I doubt Melbourne will want to let go of anyone we would want, particularly in the front row.
Plus the usual Perth/PNG offering stupid money for players to sign up.

Benji had massive wraps on him the pre season before he left - why I found it odd when he did leave

How good would it be if Sam Fainu is in blues camp or unavailable for what ever reason and he is replaced by Blore rather than throwing a young kid in or Seyfarth.

Builds the squad depth.i really hope it happens

Will happily take him back if it means getting rid of that stain, Seyfarth.

He can go stink it up and injure his fellow teammates at another club in reserve grade where he belongs
