Fair call here. If Critter is over a mill, and Latu is on 500 as a utility playing reduced minutes, IMO the sweet spot for Avarillo and what he brings at centre is bang on 650/700.

Let's face it. With big Sam out until possibly round 20 we have a gaping second row hole. Roberts was impressive against Manly in a losing side. If he can reproduce the goods against a top notch team like the panthers then he may prove to be the answer. He's young enough and has size on his side. Let's see him rip into the chocolates!

I think someone posted yesterday that the contract values the press talk about are seldom close to the real amount. I agree with this 100%, it’s often done for a purpose. It get clicks, it blows the manager’s tyres up and it inflates players expectations of their value. Like with most things in the NRL media, you take it with a grain of salt.
In saying the above I am more than happy to have Jake coming across even if his contract could be on the high side

The more i think about the Averillo signing the more i like it, if Bula cops a few injuries like this year it means no Mason at FB locks down problematic right centre. Herbert to cover if he has to move i still think it may be a little bit over but the market is inflated with PNG and the Bears.
Also back up 5/8 at a push but id rather be using Latu,Jock or Andrews in the halves with Doueihi once Batman goes.

Godinet is a very good prospect needs to make adjustments to his game and the outside noise. Has potential but it is not going to be handed to him

I was off Royce as a fat dud last year. This year he shown exactly what he is capable of in the first six or so rounds when we were in close games and the last thing the other side want is the biggest bloke on our side charging at them fresh when they are buggered. When we are 24 zip down Royce becomes irrelevant.

Same subject..Latu has had 4 years to justify his $$...complicated by Samuelas rsigning...but not seen anything yet from Latu
He was a wonderful junior blah blah..but how long do u wait to see that transition ...?

Id be giving Roberts as many opportunities as we can to promote from within and avoid the inevitable(in this environment) $$ auction for proven (?)1st grader

We're in new territory with two expansion teams inflating the player market when there is already increased demand and a shortage of quality players. I'm pleased we've been able to sign a well-performed NRL player from a well-performed club in competition with a number of teams. This comes on the tail of re-signing a number of critical players for our future including Bula.

You are 100% correct CK. Benji should be telling all of our lower grade coaches that there is an NRL spot up for grabs in an emerging team. Guys like Roberts, Godinet and Saukuru should be champing at the bit.

I do as the Dolphins imo are a club well-performed and on the rise. Averillo has been a component of that success and his experience with the Dolphins will be to our benefit. I also have great faith in our recruitment team - Gallant, Marshall and co. to identify good talent. This wasn't always the case with previous administrations.
