Bronsan Xerri has had talks with both Storm and Eels for a possible early release (before 30 Jun 26 deadline) from the Dogs. The Eels seem to be linked to everyone lately .. Bronsan Xerri and Spencer Leniu (I hope he comes to us).

Has anyone got a spare 5/8 for the Bulldogs.
They already have 3, another one won’t hurt.
In all seriousness they will not let Xerri go unless they get someone they want in return.
I’m surprised Crichton doesn’t want his old mate Leniu at the Bulldogs?
 
Daily Telegraph Sport Confidential: We told you a fortnight ago that the Bulldogs had a fight on their hands to keep young half Alex Conti at the club. Sport Confidential can now reveal that the ‘Dogs have won the fight after Conti agreed a new deal with the club. It is understood the young playmaker has inked a three-year deal to stay at the club and hone his craft under coach Cameron Ciraldo.

Must be prioritising Conti over Woods now that Woods hasn’t been able to get on the field this year

Like I’ve been saying, I cannot fault the 💯 commitment and effort Turuva always brings, so I have no issue with him being in our starting 13, but I’m looking at it as a value for money type scenario.
If the whispers are correct, we seem to be very tight for Salary Cap space so every dollar we can potentially save becomes valuable to allow us to fund an all round better roster with better depth.
In saying this we do not appear to have much dead wood left in 2027, so we have an opportunity to be better placed than we have for many years if we are smart with our recruitment and retention for 2027.

Look I love Turuva's effort.

But I have an issue with a rookie who is clearly at Rookie level being in our starting 13.
That issue skyrockets when it's a center or winger.

We can't keep anyone in the backline who's a turnstyle.

Yes, but he could be an interesting one to coach.
If Ricky can't handle him, I doubt Benji will do better.

Im saying we have a salary cap.

Dont claim to be an expert but i assume if your salary cap is 99% used at the start of the year, its stays 99% for the whole year. Money doesnt just appear even for pro-rata contracts. So finding 200k for Manu would not be possible.

Corey agreed to join us after meeting Benji & Richo but backflipped when he & Ricky worked through their issues. Had Raiders granted him a release when he first asked them he would have signed with us. I haven’t watched enough of him this year. Is he going ok?
