Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Such a great signing that’s low cost, zero risk and could have incredible upside. In a position we desperately need depth in

Imagine signing him a few years back when Fulton wanted to pay (I think) $800,000 or more 🤣.
$1.2million…. He signed with Manly for $800k
oh that’s right 😂. It was an absurd figure that Fulton wanted to sign him for.

Let’s just wipe the Pascoe / Lee era from our history

The rules are weird. I believe Luke L will still count towards our 30 required contracted players by June 30 even if he departs. For the remainder, we can easily promote Bunty & another (Charlie or Tino) from the dev list to make 30 without spending much.

And as I will say again, it doesn't mean the cap space saved on Luke L will mean another player coming in. It may give us extra $$$ to give towards Samuela Fainu for this season.

NOTE: Luke & Samuela have the same manager (Mario Tartak/Crown).

I have similar thoughts and do not see any difference in most on here wanting a fill in from another club for the remainder of this season to plug our deficincies.

Whatever the reason, this release seems a no brainer to me. David Nofoaluma to Melbourne rings a bell, and unlike Luke, he was still contracted for the following years.

Schuster is an interesting proposition. If you look at Parra the player that moved the dial for them when he joined is Dylan Walker, comes on and plays that lock role and visibly speeds up the play and provides good ball to the 7 or creates gaps in the middle and feeds short balls to forwards running a decent line into the gaps he creates. Schuster has a higher skillset than Walker in attack, however he could play a similar role and push AD and Luai a bit wider. Could be incredible Api>Schuster >AD/Luai/Bula or it could be a mess with too many creative players getting in each others way. Time will tell.

Schuster could be incredible.., but so would be winning tne powerball ..,

He has been given another lifeline … his last no doubt for the big time you would have to think .., I hope Benji can succeed where Wayne Bennett failed ..

Still ..The club has taken a low risk decision with upside if he comes good … no problems there

I cant see hom wver being a good 13. He has the talent but no way he will have the work ethic. Edge backrower, where he has played most of his NRL would be his best bet.
I agree. Way better used on an edge where he can use his frame and silky skills than in the middle where he'd have to tackle himself to a standstill. Could be a real good bench option/first drop backrower for us next year if he brains it in cup over the next few months.

Its where hes played his best footy...in the past
I'd say they'll start him off where comfortable at 5/8 in Ron Massey Cup and then injuries & his form will determine whether he gets called up to NSW Cup this season.

The important thing is him being able to train 1 day per week with the NRL squad & his attitude, skills & fitness there will determine whether Benji gives him a pre-season T&T.

Personally think a Wade Graham style back-row role could be an alternative with our packed stocks in the halves.
