Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

A lot of uneducated fans out there that perpetuate falsehoods like this.

HBG do NOT own the Wests Tigers name and trademark. The ARL owns that.

The NRL could strip the operating license and award a new license to a completely different consortium, allowing that new party to operate a team under the Wests Tigers name and logo.
And the nrl can’t easily offload licence like that , being shit or feeding the news within player dramas does not constitute revoking a licence or giving it elsewhere

Even if the. Nrl were stupid to even attempt to do this all other clubs would vote pvl and nrl board out , as there club could easily be next

They didn’t take the eels licence away and there was shit involved in their cap scandal they brought an administrator in.

The NRL does not need to revoke, they can simply not renew.

Anyway I don't know why you came in hot. This was about trademark/logo name.

it would be easy for the nrl if they wanted a firehawks team in from Brisbane as they were basically the East's Tigers bid.
Plant them up in brisbane and nrl divides up south west.

However nrl seem pretty keen on a south island new zealand team which makes sense to build a nz origin etc

This idea keeps getting mixed up with relocation or needing to change the identity.

We would not need to relocate or change identity.

Apparently one of ADs concerns about the club reported by Daniel Weedkiller is around players at the club vaping …

I remember last year joking here that Big Royce Hunt was supposedly a vaper …not a great look for a bloke who runs out of puff after 10 mins …

Do they need to implement a no vaping policy at the club?

1000% they need to implement that if there is anything remotely like that happening, it would be ludicrous if it was because we have so many young impressionable kids coming through. The health concerns are mind blowing in lowering respiratory performance in non-athletes let alone high performance elite athletes, I would go so much to say that if a GM or CEO knew about this they should be sacked on the spot if this was happening in and around training. Nearly all NRL clubs wouldn't tolerate this for a second.

the nrl will not just not invite wests tigers then decide to let them stay in Macarthur region under different ownership.
it would be an excuse to keep the tiger brand and move a team out of sydney

I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if AD still remains at the club and this blows over. And if it does who holds these reporters to account for their rubbish journalism and the chaos they cause with this shit. Blokes like The Mole and Dean Ritchie want a tonne of clicks through their weekend posts and reports and they know us WT fans are highly reactive and get too emotional when every man of their dog is slinging shit at our club.

Lets face facts this all started with Luai leaving for the Chiefs and its been all down hill from there, we support our team no matter what and will do forever in time, we need to draw a line in the sand and demand our club from a management point of view handle these types of things better and get on the front foot, they've let click baiters dictate the narrative and if its anything less than AD leaving our club for good these f!?!?!'ers have a lot to answer if for if everything gets sorted out.

It’s a way of causing disharmony throughout the club. It’s another sensitive personal matter to put pressure on the club and coach.

However if true it does annoy me. Maybe it’s rife through the NRL but professional athletes need to do everything possible to be at their best. Just another reason why we struggle to compete.

My own observations of younger people are that this appears to be something on the rise throughout all walks ….i find it personally annoying and stupid, but when I was their age I did similar stupid things …

I was kind of joking about banning it …how can you ?But being professional athletes, They need to set higher standards for themselves to be able to compete at 100 percent ,..Im sure this would have an impact on their fitness…

There was a Vlog posted by Terrell and it showed a couple players vaping.

Royce as you mentioned and Luai.

With respect, that is an opinion - there is no rule that says they would need to move.

Vapes are not completely illegal to possess or use for personal reasons in New South Wales, but strict laws control where you can buy them, what kind you can get, and who can sell them.

Where You Can Buy Vapes
Pharmacies only: Vapes can only be legally sold at community pharmacies.Shops are banned: It is illegal for convenience stores, tobacconists, petrol stations, and general vape shops to sell any type of vape or vape accessory, even if the product has no nicotine.

Prescriptions and age rules: People aged 18 and over can buy low-strength nicotine vapes (20mg/ml or less) directly from a pharmacist after a consultation. Anyone under 18, or anyone wanting a higher nicotine concentration, still needs a doctor's prescription.

Possession and Use Rules Personal limits: Having a small amount of vapes for personal use is legal. However, holding large commercial quantities without a permit is a serious criminal offense.

Disposable vapes: Single-use, disposable vapes are banned across Australia and cannot be legally imported or sold.

Public vaping: You cannot vape in areas where smoking is banned, such as public transport, indoor venues, or near children's playgrounds. Doing so can result in an on-the-spot fine of $300.

I’m sure a bit like how it’s illegal for tobacco and convenience stores to sell cheap ciggies from China that avoid the govt excise … no one is doing that right ?
