Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

It seems that way MF. Here is our list of uncontracted players ...

Tony Sukkar
Bunty Afoa
Heath Mason
Jeral Skelton
Tristan Hope
Will Craig
Charlie Murray (Dev)
Lachlan Broederlow (Dev)

We are currently at 24 players in top 30 & 5 players on Dev deals for 2027 (provided CTM & Godinet are Devs). So we have room for 6 + 1.
6 new additions less , Skelton , Sukkar , Bunty leaves 3 still good shopping to be done
Prop , Backrow , speed machine

SMH: A good friend of Marshall’s from their playing days at St George Illawarra, Tyson Frizell told SMH on Tuesday Benji had picked up the phone on several occasions about a move to Concord.
Not sure why he would feel the need to put that in the media. Sounds like he is trying to boost his contract for a year with the Knights. If he was genuinely thinking of coming here you would think those conversations aren’t mentioned.

What do we realistically need to improve the squad?

- A decent bench 2nd rower/Middle > Answer: Frizell. He's a senior leader too, which we really need.
- A high-quality prop > Assuming May & Pole are there, we then really start stretching for quality with Seyfarth/Hunt/Fainu for the final 2 spots.
- If we can, a quality halfback or wing (but we can run with Tupou/Maka and Latu/Andrews)

I think we've found our lock in Twal. If he took that much of a leap this year, he may go a whole new level next year.

I can see your point, but I see enough upside to think he will improve significantly in 2027 and significantly again in 2028.
First of all V
I’m not having a go at you,
But
What upside did you see from Makasini from the start of this season to his final games in Reserve grade & Flegg ?
With Skelton and Tupou being our wingers in the final rounds tells me Maka went backwards this season.
Don’t get me wrong I want Maka to get his confidence back and become a permanent starting centre for the Tigers.
Next year is huge for his NRL career.

Yeah these situations never end well for the Tigers. Just got to hope the Knights can't offload one of their contracted players to make room.

You make some very good points.
The progression I saw was Heamasi in NSW Cup attacking defensive high balls and looking very confident.
I also saw some of his tough yardage carries look strong in his last couple of NRL games.
Obviously improving his overall defensive and improving his attacking involvement and using his size to advantage are the areas where we need to see plenty of improvement, but I am confident we will see big improvement in these areas very soon.
Like most of our fans, I think he needs a good run of games on the left wing outside of a good, aggressive centre which we have in Taylan May if we can get him on the field and avoiding injury himself.
Overall I think we have good depth and plenty of upside on our left with May and Makasini the likely starters and Saukuru and Tupou adding competition and depth.
We need better competition and depth on the right and Averillo and Turuva look ok, but I don’t think Herbert and Tavana are realistic competition or good enough depth.
