Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

As far as having a senior guy around and a good defensive coach, Flanagan is the best available and most willing to come. However, i feel quite certain his arrival comes with an Isaac Moses media driven agenda to oust Benji. Now while I have no problem with Benji being sacked, I do have a problem with another year of internal dramas. I wish Flanno was adamant ge never wants to be a gead coach again. Then I would be on board.
He actually did say recently on Triple M that his desire was to be an assistant whilst also continuing media work. Turned down a head coaching job in the Super League recently and used that as the reason - whilst also saying he didn’t want to relocate.

I think his ending at the Dragons may have ruined his desire for head coaching.

Could be a good move if the above is in fact true.

are you talking hunter or smith ?
Smith... rumour is they need money to keep the young forwards they have and they have that good young half coming along..... Best Dom the Fletcher's all just got upgraded I am hoping Smith can come to the Tiger's the sales pitch is that it's never ever boring

Well if that true then he seems like the right guy for the job. If he is genuine is just being a sidekick and experienced voice for Benji then it could work. Buggest issue i see is then is Benji himself. I really feel like he wouldn't want Flanno and we all know how Benji is if he doesnt get his way.

If we had Flanno run defence and get Sultana or Sandercock to help Benji run the attack we may improve somewhat.

Personally I think we should just rip the band aid off now and appoint Brad Arthur to a 3 year deal as head coach.
We should be seeking out Arthur for the assistant role.

Money is probably the same as his current role, he can return to AUS and is probably next in line for a head coaching role if Benji continues to fail.

Arthur would be earning significantly more in the Super League as the HC of one of the biggest clubs .. he also gets to call the shots instead of being someone else’s gopher ..

Latu at 7 and Brooks at 6 would be a good set up as both can defend , Brooks does have a strong running game and kicks well just those 2 jobs done well would help and let Latu just play his crafty game ,
Latu , Brooks does have, API ( Brailey ): is strong middle defence
Andrew’s on the bench
Why does anyone want brooks at the joint he had 10 years here and was a huge failure, literally one of our worst contracts every was his

Luke Brooks was unfairly bagged by many of our supporters when he was with us.
He was always a good ball runner with plenty of speed and always defended strongly, but he was not confident when expected to control the team and made to play as our 7.
Not his fault that multiple coaches did not acknowledge this.
However he is not what we are looking for or need at this point of time.

love him or not, one thing that can be said, unlike others, he left on good terms and never bagged us in the media after his exit
It can't be said because he bagged the crap out of the club during his final year. He didn't leave on good terms at all, he was stood down with a fake injury.
He bashed the club in the media with a few rounds to go.
It was the behaviour of an ungrateful, classless churl.
He should never return

Are you joking? In the end Luke was unable to prove that he's a leader, that's why he was dumped by our club and now Manly.

Wake up old mate.
