Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Why would you say that? A true supporter would welcome a professional athlete who just played a gf. Some of you people have no idea.

"True supporter" lol... A true supporter knows what a shit heap this club is at the moment.

He's also about to turn 35 in a couple of days. Tell me Col, how have our pension signings in the past worked out?

We're all hoping he comes here and changes the tide but you can't blame anyone for having a bit of scepticism. Hell we took a four time premiership winner on and he did nothing here.

Yeah except Manase hasn’t played in seven years and doesnt deserve a redemption arc as the merkin still hasn’t admitted stabbing that bloke. The guy is a filthy jailbird piece of shit and this is a typical braindead Wests Tigers recruitment decision.

What a waste of talent he was. Api probably thanks him for coming on though because without him he'd probably still be at Manly and two premiership rings lighter.

What sort of Mormon takes a knife to a church disco?

Here you are again speaking with such self righteous confidence on subjects you know absolutely nothing about .. bravo👍👏

From someone I know to be reliable... Everyone can take that as they will, if they don't believe it or are skeptical then that is completely fine. Just re-laying the info.

I posted in the Samuela thread that i don't know when it will be announced formally, but just heard that it's all been agreed. It's complicated because his agent is banned at the moment and because they're big/long deals, the specific agent (Tartak) doesn't want to miss out on the commission so the paper work and signature have to happen at specific times. He's been very involved in their careers since they were young, taken care of the Fainus and their family especially during the stuff with Manase, and they want to to take care of him.

Manase will probably be at the club in some capacity in the next year or two. Will probably make his way back through RMC and at some point sign a Cup contract. I know many people will be against that and fair enough, but i personally don't really have an issue with it. Manase did the crime and did the time. Deserves a second chance at life and rehabilitation.

There are others in our game who have done the crime, done no time and even rewarded with rep honours and premierships. Ezra Mam, Matt Lodge etc.
Absolutely 💯 agree with this.. This is Australia, we allow redemption, we don’t try to hold people down forever and we give second chances… anyone that can’t at least respect this should take a long hard look at themselves.. especially on a fan forum for a club that has 3 of his brothers at it ..

It's a bit hard to stomach isn't it, if Latu and Sam weren't such important players in the team would they be bending over so much to keep them, is there leverage involved, some food for thought.
Do u really think that other clubs wouldn’t do the same if they had 3 players they wanted to keep , things have changed over the years , which would not have been aloud to happen

No doubt Manase took the advice of his legal representatives during his court case. To do otherwise would be foolhardy.

He also has brothers who play for our club and family who love and care for him. They may even read the forum. I'm sure you can get your message across in a softer tone. We're all WTs' supporters.
I'd love to know what brand Chapstick you use paws
- You must be on a sponsorshoip deal with them by now?

"It's OK to lie in court about trying to kill a young person, My Solicitor said so"

We should be trying to get Tyrone May as well.
Maybe we can get Rob Lui, John Elias and Craig Field to join the coaching staff whilst we are busy collecting dickheads…
I don't understand why any club would want to build a team around two families. It makes absolutely no sense.

We have three Fainus (possibly four if Manase gets signed) and maybe three Mays in the squad.

If they don't get their way, they'll hold the club to ransom. If they leave, we'll be absolutely screwed.

This is the stupidest recruitment strategy and logic I've ever seen from this club.

But champion @Leck, remember the Mortimers and the Hughes families in the old Bulldogs teams - it can work.

You either havent followed the club for long or your judgement is clouded.

Terrell May
Taylan May
Samuela Fainu
Sione Fainu
Latu Fainu

I look at those players and think every single one is a good signing.

As for the fringe players..

Manase will have the chance to come back via Ron Massey... the same way I could go and trial for them... so whats the problem?

Tyrone isnt coming.. so I dont knowwhat you are on about.

Go and watch the 2nd half of the mayday podcast and listen to the way terrell commits himself to this club over playing for Samoa in the world cup. it was bloody refreshing to hear that he means business... with some luck we will see terrell evolve over the next 12 months.

Not sure what people expect when the club has created the position they are in due to years of self sabotage and mismanagement and zero success on the back of it.
WTs is vulnerable to every demand a player wants to make because they all know that it's a players market and if they are even half decent they will have options elsewhere with clubs that offer the chance of success that WTs can't seriously sell to anyone.
We keep supporting a club that we continue to complain about on one hand then in other question why they have to bend over to players and managers, pay overs, clauses, tempt family members. If you can't replace the Fainu's with equal or better then you have to decide if you meet their demands - that's the reality.

The same people also over look the talent we have on our hands. Samuela is only 22. Latu 21. We are sitting on gold. But they want to focus on players like tds and galvin.

Sure, if Manase comes back, he’ll have to go through the Cup first. I’m just not sure why you’d want to give someone with his violent history a contract, but what do I know?

Tyrone is still just a rumour that started back in May, with talk that all the brothers want to reunite.

That could potentially mean seven players from just two families in our club.

Absolutely nuts.

Good point, but guess what, we came 15th this year, so it's not working. The Mortimers played in four grand finals and won three. This lineup will be very lucky if they don't get another spoon next year.

Let's see how how this all pans out after November 1st.

The words mismanagement and self sabotage ring true.
