Knights made the grand final from 7th this year..I doubt they do that with an extra finals game in the mix.

I knew someone would say that. Its ridiculous thinking Jedi. The modern game is a lottery with ref decisions, momentum issues etc. Its completely unfair to go into an 80 minute battle having earnt a finals spot after 26 or 27 rounds of football and have it ripped away by a team that didnt earn it because on that day they got the calls.

Its a joke. If you earn 7th or 8th over 26 rounds, why the hell should you run the risk of missing the finals to 9th or 10th? It goes against every fabric of sport, not just rugby league. Its a disgraceful concept.

I can see it now, Tigers finish 7th, finally do enough to play finials, then lose this bullshit wild and game to 10th placed Parra and our drought continues.

I would only be on board when we have 20 teams, so that the top half make the semis, and then the wildcard round is effectively just another semi final

Not an appointment that would fill me with confidence. Sounds like his time at Castleford ended poorly and wasn't on the best terms with some of the players.

it can also work in our favour we finish 10th we are still a chance.
it keeps interest in the remaining few weeks of the competition, perhaps next year we dont all lose interest in june like usual when we can't make it
