Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Agreed , but he has 1 career and he lost 2 years . Sure he got his base wage , but he was origin/ test level . Thats a couple hundred k , plus endorsements lost as he was out of sight out of mind .
Also the phins forward depth has surprisingly gone gangbusters. A lot of guys who were middling took a massive leap and repair the faith . It’s made Fleglers 1 mil a year contract look slightly redundant . I guess they figure maybe his salary could be better given to bostock, Herbie and the hammer . I kind of get it for both sides .

Exactly he got his base wage and the dolphins got nothing for it. It's a dog move.

Can you stop turning every single situation that’s up in the air into doom and gloom . He hasn’t signed his contract . It’s nov 1 on Sunday . He might be testing the market , it might be the club has spent the last few weeks getting the Fainus across the line , it might be we are losing a bench prop . Either way , none of that is doom and gloom.

The last few weeks? How about the last few months when half the team re-signed. Not a whisper from him. Just being realistic.

Departing players thanked on WT website & socials.

No departures for Sukkar or Mason from top 30. Not sure if they typically mention Dev players but no mention of Charlie Murray, Bunty or Broederlow either.

“I just want them to know that I’m capable of playing footy again,” he said.

“I’m probably fitter, physically and mentally stronger than I was back then playing. I’ve got a lot to give to the game, not just to the game, but to the next generation of kids coming up.

“Most of them probably looked at me as a role model before I came to jail, and hopefully they still do. I can still speak to them about the path that they want to choose, like which way they want to go. If the NRL do hear this, everyone in life needs a second chance. Hopefully, the NRL can give me one. I’ll take it with both hands.”

Looks like hope going to resign Sukkar.

Re-signing Mason is interesting to say the least.

That's one way of describing it, I can't post what I think of it, if it's a minor contract that might stop the steam piping out of my ears.

Still a top 30 spot though

If Mason re-signs, am I right in thinking he will be the last of that crop of Matts players that we signed into the NRL squad top 30 to keep them 'on potential'? Man, that was a huge mistake, wrecked our roster management for several years.

Yep technically Saukuru too

Took us years to get out of

Thanks. Those duds unbalanced our roster and we had so little usable depth. Hopefully better times now 🙂

[Flippedy]

I saw some people on a super league post saying he would lose his head and lash into the players every half time and full time team talk, like real bad way worse than Madge

Sounds peachy, that should go down well with bro love culture 😂

[Flippedy]

Apparently Herbie Farnworth has walked out on the Dolphins after their ‘Mad Monday’ function .. more to come on this story .. it’s tipped that he will be at Rorters next season .. !!

He was always on his way there anyway.

If Loyalty wasn't dead already - It is now....

How long did they carry him injured? 2+ Years?

Same as us with Teddy

Gonna lose Bostock too. Mini crisis for the Phins. They might be wishing they kept Averillo now.

With Kodi & possibly Flegler too I don’t get how they aren’t retaining at least a couple of them

All seem to want to leave
