A Dragon's supporter is suggesting Dugan to WTs for 4 years for just under $4m

That Dragon supporter is on crack!
Duggan is not worth that amount of money ,his injury history alone would drop his price considerable ,worth a look but not at that price or length of contract.

He was taking the wee…

I want Dylan Edwards here in the number one.

You may want Dylan Edwards but reality is he's contracted till end of 2018.

I'm sure Panthers won't block his pathway to the NRL, especially after we allowed Martin to join them.

He has Moylan ahead of him at the back, Mansour and DWZ on the wings signed long term. Same with Whare and Blake in the centres.

And don't forget Peachey and Hiku.

Widdop and Townsend extend their deals so there's 2 halves off the market.

Gotta make a play for elgy Roberts or SJ. Otherwise Gap fill with Marshall for 12 months and wait for young Cleary

Not looking good is it? 2018 roster sounds like will be very very weak.

Still lots of quality on the market in other positions but 5/8 is where stocks are dwindling. If tigers don't make a move for 2018 and beyond then be rest assured they must be confident in getting young Cleary or possibly better options off contract next year.

Penrith are the sort of club that might actually consider releasing a player under contract to give him a shot at first grade elsewhere. They're also under salary cap pressure and he's sitting behind Mansour, DWZ, Moylan, Blake, Whare, Hiku etc. due to his lack of first grade experience. I wouldn't entirely rule it out.

If that's the plan then I'm not opposed to a guy like Mapesone being promoted for next season. He's certainly solid enough has has a running game. Let's get the forward pack bolstered up a couple of outside backs.

Cleary doesn't seem like he panics so if he doesn't see a half on the market who fits his plan would be better off not wasting money on a "panic" buy and build up other positions in the mean time.

Tbh if they can't get Roberts or maybe josh Reynolds then I'd go for a stop gap for 2018 season and go hard for Cleary next year. He's a franchise player in the making for sure. Can build a team around him for the next decade.

A couple of questions.

Still think that the Sharks will sign Cronk?

We are crying out for a 5/8 what's the harm in signing Cronk to play in the halves with Brooks at 5/8?

The thing is as much as it sucks is this will be a rebuilt.

By the time that Cronk decides to play on, we may be the only club left and Newcastle.

We also sign a Tyrone Roberts as a back up which gives us a contingency plan if Cronk doesn't survive the season.

Secondly, Dugan is exactly whar we need if we are serious about building the culture whilst staying competitive.

Why is everyone writing off these two options???

Well I had Cronk pegged for dogs or sharks but those 2 options now seem dead and buried so maybe there is a chance he signs with tigers now. As for Dugan his price tag is a bit hefty for what he brings. I'd prefer they made a play for hayne over Dugan if you are talking million dollar deals

Yep, can't believe i'm saying it but i'd take Hayne over Dugan if we are talking a million plus.

Unless Cronk retires then his options are becoming very limited for signing with a Sydney club as the Tigers may be one of the few left that can afford him - unless he wants to play outside of Sydney at Newcastle, which may somewhat defeat the purpose of moving to Sydney for Tara's sake!!

I think Hayne will exercise his option to earn 1 mil at the GC next season.

I'd take Hayne on his day he can win you a match single handedly, if he could be persuaded to be on the bus not conducting it he could be a good fit. We need match winners.
