Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Wasn't he part of the Kareeba system and we did sign him and he ended up at the Bronco's in the end ?

Correct -i believe he played u/20's with us and then said he was homesick and went back to Brissy.
Decent player but I dont think he is what we are looking for although his goalkicking would come in handy.

Three new players to the club for next year & beyond. Hopefully Cleary can add these guys:
Kirisome Auva'a
Taane Milne
Corey Jensen
Joe Ofahengaue
Russell Packer
Jorge Taufua
Connor Watson
Cheyne Whitelaw
Corey Harawira-Naera

Can any of these kick goals? One of the main priorities for the clib will be to sign a class goal kicking player (Gordon?).

Packer has a good record at kicking heads does that count?

Yes, but those kicks gave him gaol, not goals.

In the Tele. Tim grant and Ava also want out. From buzz so I won't bother posting a link

Plus "Idris drinking coffee near Redfern"
These new signing must be killing Buzz

From Fox Sports

STILL on the Bulldogs, the recruitment drive that has netted the club Aaron Woods and Kieran Foran will mean the club has in excess of $5 million next season tied up in around nine players for 2018.

Captain James Graham, Woods, Foran, Brett Morris, Josh Morris, Moses Mbye, Greg Eastwood, David Klemmer, and Josh Jackson are all representative class players on good money.

We’ve heard coach Des Hasler has personally assured captain James Graham he will not be forced out of the club. With the NRL currently indicating the salary cap figure will finish around the $9.3 million mark, this leaves the Bulldogs with only around $4 million to go around another 20 players.

They have $4 million to spend on 20 more players, meaning an average of $200k per player in order to stay under the cap. The doggies are obviously going to have to get rid of some players (most likely Mbye, Eastwood and Lichaa).

Maybe we could make a play for Josh Jackson? He is a quality player. I doubt the Bulldogs will let it slide, but we should take a chance as they seemingly need to get rid of some contracted players. One can dream…

Who are our the possible fullback options for 2018???

James Tedesco, Will Zillman, Michael Gordon, Dylan Edwards, Lee Malkoun, TMM, Dane Gagai, Jarryd Hayne ???

Am I missing someone? I really don't see anyone coming other than an out of favour Gordon or Zillman :S

Our main focus now has to be looking for a reliable goal kicker .. !!

Maybe Ivan is holding on to his joker as the main trick card … Nathan Cleary gets released from Penriff to join the Tigers at the end of the season, under some clause .. is there a father son clause in the NRL .. ?? Problem solved .. !! :righton:

Tui Lolohea, Connor Watson, Latrell Mitchell? They aren't off contract but all out of favour in their respective clubs. We've been linked to both Tui and Connor recently.

Off contract:
Darius Boyd
Billy Slater
Dugan
Hayne
Gordon
Kurt Mann
Tyrone Roberts
Jordan Kahu
Alex Johnston
Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad

On contract but not playing 1st grade consistently:
Latrell Mitchell
Dylan Edwards
Connor Watson
Tuimoala Lolohea

With Big Ben and Reynolds signed, these players would be my next targets:

Kieron Holland (Good size back and decent goal kicker- off contract and would not cost much)
James Graham (great buy if the Dogs pay part of his contract)
Darren Nicholls (good backup half and would not cost the world either- local junior and ex u/20's captain- killed it in the QLD Cup last year)
Taane Milne (good size centre….lots of upside)
Patrick Kaufusi (big prop, lots of upside- not sure if he would want to move down to Sydney)
Dane Gagi (class centre or FB)
Latrell Mitchell (next GI - love watching this guy play - would go all out to get him when Teddy moves on)
Leivaha Pula or Agnatius Paasi (would take either of them for the right money - not stupid money)
Salesi Funaki (local junior who went to Broncos 2 seasons ago- has grown and got good experience in LD Cup and Broncos squad....cheap backrow option who could potentially be damaging edge player)

Still need a decent FB (Mitchell), decent centre (Gagi), goal kicker (Holland) and big forwards.

We have enquired about mitchell and watson with roosters declining. Maybe they might look to offload them in the coming weeks once they officially announce tedesco signing?? Warriors have rejected 1000 offers over the past two years for Tui so dont see him moving either. Panthers seem pretty keen to offload players atm so I would be looking towards Dylan Edwards.

1\. Dylan Edwards
2\. David Nofoluama
3\. Taane Milne
4\. Moses Suli
5.
6\. Josh Reynolds
7\. Luke Brooks
8\. Ben Matulino
9\. Matt Mcilwrick
10\. Russel Packer
11\. Chris McQueen
12.
13\. Elijah Taylor

Not looking so bad anymore. Sign a winger and backrower and we should compete.

I really like the look of this Milky. Maybe some experience on the wing in Tupou and maybe Corey Neara in the back row?

Bulldogs have spent $5 million of their cap on 9 players (reported by Fox), and need to buy 20 more players whilst still complying within the salary cap. They desperately need to offload players, so maybe we could inquire about Josh Jackson for that number 12 spot? He's solid and still fairly young and goes for around $600k per season which is quite expensive, but eh, so be it. We need quality, seasoned first graders.

Maybe even that Tukeiaho bloke from the Roosters. He can kick goals and seems like a consistent back rower. He's contracted until 2020, though which could be a problem as Roosters seemingly do not want to negotiate at all regarding their contracted players. Just a couple suggestions I would like to see linked with us

Id love him. They wont release him though. Bulldogs fans would riot ?
