Not too excited about the thoughts of Ottio or Fonua on our wings. Considering the players that were available on the market, I'd be disappointed.

If we actually get Ottio and he gets a run I think your disappointment will be short lived…not many better options realistically available that I can see. Good size, solid kick returns, an aerial threat in attack and speed, speed, speed. Plus he'll be cheap!

I'm happy with Fonua also, he'll put us on the front foot when we start our sets, something we sorely need.

Guerra is a downgrade on Lawrence. He would be a terrible sigining.

Disagree. How can an ex test and origin player be a downgrade on a busted center playacting as a backrower?

If Guerra was a NSWelshman he woyld never have represented. Look at tonights game, Lawrence is our best player (tonight)

Dont you believe that…Guerra was one of the reasons the Roosters won the comp. Lawrence going ok tonight. Still not a backrower.

That win was 4 years ago amigo, he was 25 back then. As with Chris Lawrence a lot can happen to your form and physical ability in a few years.

My point was he would have represented back then because he was in great form.

Looking at our wingers we need to replace Kev, Rankin, Justin Hunt. Fonua, Ottio, Thompson are a definite upgrade with way more upside. If we get Packer with Matulino definite upgrade over Ava, Woods. Reynolds > Moses. Teddys coin probably gets LoLo, McQueen, Guerra.
Cleary is building a very good squad just quietly.

Fair enough.

How many props need to be added to the squad? At least another two to go with mautilino and packer imo

I would be looking at Tafoa Sipley from the Warriors as well…Runs bloody hard and hits hard...

Going to be interesting to see how much of the cap we retain and wait to see who is going to be available down the track.

All this talk that the cap will be smaller than some clubs have budgeted for will certainly put the squeeze on at some point.

Penrith would be one of the main ones to o suffer as would the Roosters.

Certainly a player or two of note from those clubs that might fall into our clutches.

I think we already have a better roster for next year already.

Matulino, Packer (?), McQueen, Reynolds et al

If we could add Aaron Gray, Will Hopoate, Brenton Lawrence, Sam Tagatese & that Lolohea bloke who is said to be a done deal to the above, then I will be more than happy

Ivan Cleary is about to add Greg Eastwood to his list of recruits for 2018 (Daily Telegraph)
