Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

If Lolohea can't get a release, i don't know why we are not pressing the Roosters and Connor Watsons management harder to get him here immediately. I can't imagine he's thrilled at playing 14 minutes at the back end of games that have already been won or lost. He's not on big money either. It would be the same idea that we had for Tui. Play Watson at 6 for 2017 and move him to fullback in 2018…

I'd be going in hard for Hoppa now he's decided to play sundays, i think hes better than Lolohea and if we cant get lolo this season it would be a better option long term IMO.

OFF-CONTRACT Rabbitohs are on edge as a devastating raid of cellar dwellers Newcastle is set to deliver Queensland flyer Dane Gagai to Redfern.

Souths have been widely tipped to pick up Gagai, the two-time wooden spooners’ biggest star, from 2018 in a move that will impact the likes of off-contract speedsters Alex Johnston, Bryson Goodwin and Aaron Gray.

A reported three-year offer is expected to see Gagai slot into Michael Maguire’s backline and offer cover for indigenous icon Greg Inglis over coming seasons.

Gagai’s future had been the subject of much conjecture in recent days as he considered an option to remain at the Knights beyond 2017.

FOX SPORTS news on TV just announced it is confirmed that Dane Gagai has signed with Souths, 4 year deal.

I would be making a big money play for Nick Cotric from the Raiders. Is contracted till end 2018 but would be on winger money. Would make a great fullback and may be tempted to come early if fullback money offered. If not, Gordon at fullback for next year and Cotric the year after. He will be a superstar.

The tigers need to put away the chequebook and suck up the consequences of their poor recruitment and retention policy in years gone by.

There are now suggestions we are paying big overs for players that are not proven first graders (or possibly proven as non first graders) like Lolohea, or scraping the bottom of the barrel for people like Eastwood or others trying to extend a mediocre career by a year or two.

The tigers should follow the lead of the knights and sign up the young talent within the club long term, while looking for cast offs and young players from other clubs that will provide value for money.

Throwing big money at 30 year olds on long term contracts is a recipe for disaster.

Somehow I don't think our policy with young talent worked too favorably…

Been there …. have done that ..... time to reverse the trend.
I trust Cleary judgement.

James Graham reckons he's been assured he's staying at the Dogs. There's something funny going on over there.

That's now. Give it another month and his head could easily be on the chopping block. Won't be to come to us though, especially if we sign Packer. Still want to see him get pushed out though. There'd be riots from Belmore to Bankstown and efigy's of Woods would be burning day and night.

It's almost as if 3 of the 4 young talents our club has built it's foundations upon seemingly walked out on us? Other than that I believe our policy has gone accordingly

Hey all,
Another day at work spending more time reading the forum rather than actually working, lucky i'm the boss. normally just like to read everyone's comments, but i thought i would throw a couple names out there as suggestions. First is a former tiger now playing in the ESL, quiet surprised to find out his still only 26, what about Ben Murdoch Masila, At 117kgs he has the size, he also had the skill, from memory just a bit lazy. Also another out there suggestion would be Justin Horo.
So should i just stick to reading rather than posting?

Welcome to the forum mate…

I would take BMM back, it's now a top 30 and you need that depth. If he can make a statement in second grade, he can get a call up.

Have you been asleep the past 5 or more years?
Signing youth only got us into this trouble.

Thanks Milky, pleasure to be here. BMM is a kiwi and Ivan seems to have a liking for them, at 26 I reckon he would be worth a shot, right age for prop, wouldn't command huge dollars, might want one last chance.

I think it is worth giving him a shot at redemption.

1 year, 2 extra in our favour and see how he goes.
