Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

All you have to do these days to get a release from your contract is be a big sook and tank during games…
If Holmes wants to play full back, the tigers need a full back what's the harm in making an enquiry?
...and there's nothing wrong with dreaming..this is the signing suggestions and rumours thread, not the "extremely likely to happen no imagination allowed" thread.

Commentators have been saying Valentine Holmes wants to play full back so with Duran going there maybe the tigers could nab him?
Would be awesome if that happened - probably better than Lolohea.

Why would the Sharks release him? It will never happen.

Unlikely to happen but if Holmes is offered a fullback spot the sharks may release him to play where he wants. Can't hurt to at least ask - if they say no we are in the same position anyway.

If you read the story valentine Holmes will be playing fullback next year they signed Dugan to play centre and mentoring the current fullback Holmes

Haven't seen it. Completely changes the circumstance for Holmes then!
Thought Dugan wanted to play fb or nowhere.

Dugan would have only gone to Sharks to play fullback, money was about the same so it seems.

But maybe Holmes will be willing to shift within the Cronulla team.

Caught up with some Rugby mates this afternoon and was told that Reece Robinson (who just got dropped by the Waratahs) had made enquiries about coming back to League. He's apparently pursuing the Tigers amongst others. No idea if the Tigers are interested or not.

Solid player, would rather Reece over Corey Thompson

Dugan will be playing at centre.

My understanding is that he is adamant he wants to play fullback??

He is a goal kicking winger which would be quite handy for Wests Tigers.

SMH and News Ltd reporting Dugan signing @ $750K per year. Assuming that's inflated like most of the quotes, it's still a helluva lot to be playing a centre?

Reportedly part of the falling out with Saints was that they were pegging him as a centre pay grade, even though that's where he plays at rep level.

There is one team i have links/sources to, and that is the Sharks.

Holmes isn't going anywhere, he is the man they are building the team around and i can assure you that.

Roosters in the race to sign Hayne. They have put the Chambers deal on hold until Hayne decides future.

First of all, I'm completely lost as to how the Roosters are even in contention to sign these players. NRL, are you even there?

Secondly, we should make a play for Chambers or Hayne, depending on who works out and who doesn't

I'd love Chambers. Hayne can get stuffed.

I guess if he is getting more money than dragons were offering he won't care where he plays

Can someone please give me an update on our signings;
Definite - Josh Reynolds, Ben Matulino, Russell Packer, Chris McQueen, Alex Twal, Tyson Gamble, Mahe Fonua, Corey Thompson
Strongly rumored - Tui Lolohaea
Recent Rumors - Taane Milne, Kato Ottio, Alex Johnston, Aiden Guerra, Morgan Boyle, Peta Hiku, Greg Eastwood
Thanks, it would be nice to have a summary.

Is off contract this year at the tahs so this makes sense . At this stage of his career he wouldn't be commanding top dollar .

They have reported this morning that Josh Dugan has signed a 4 year (3mil) contract to join the Sharks from 2018\. Time for us to send Valentine Holmes a bus ticket I think .. !!

They definitely intend on keeping him, have signed Dugan to play at centre and to be a mentor for Val.
