Therefore if we signed Hoppa (I have changed my mind on him now that Sundays are included) it would be as a centre. MWZ has been going ok in defence but not fast enough in attack imo (I know it is early days but he is not going to get faster). Would still go for Gordon for one year on the wing for his kicking and is still a good player despite his age. Lolo is not a great kicker so it sort of forces your hand. Of course if you could pick up Gray or another good fast winger that wouldn't be bad either. So realistically I would settle on a backline like this at this stage:
1\. Lolohea
2\. Nofoaluma
3\. Suli
4\. Hoppa
5\. Gordon
6\. Reynolds
7\. Brooks
That is as a minimum is what we should be seeking
Lolohea
Edwards
Suli
Milne/Gray
Johnstone
Reynolds
Brooks
Reserves
Nofoaluma

Not sold on lolohea. Wouls rather kahu at fullback.

I wouldn't be putting Dylan Edwards ahead of Nofoaluma at this point, if we were to get Edwards i would play him at Fullback and forget about Lolohea.

@ said:Edwards is contracted to Penrith until 2018 so unless he's asking for a release can't see it happening.
@ said:Plenty of work to be done on the recruitment front for reserves and first grade.
@ said:that melbourne player stimson related to the great mark stimson? the player who lost a few toes due to that accident

Make him a much better offer than the Panthers and the opportunity to play consistent NRL football. It would be hard for the Panthers to say no having regard to the TMM release to the Panthers.

Dylan Edwards is also a very handy goal kicker who would definitely solve our goal kicking problems is first grade. I would suggest that Wests Tigers make him a very large offer to convince him to move to the Tigers. He is quite talented, young and a much better prospect than Moses ever was.
@ said:So Dane Gagai has not taken up his option for 2018 with Newcastle, and has informed them he is leaving…...
Who was the knucklehead on here that was adamant that he will never ever leave Newcastle, and had first hand info from Gagai's and his family?
And does anyone know where he has signed? I heard Souths were close. Would have been a great signing for us.

Souths, for $700k plus a year, hence Johnston is feeling left out.
