Realistic off-contract players for our vacant positions

FB: Lolohea

Centre: Fonua

Wing: Johnston, Corey Thompson (hope not)

Second-row: Adam Elliot

This is just my prediction. Comment yours.

Adam Elliott is still very unlikely.

Why do you say that?

Surely thats not the only players available for our required positions would be a long 2018 if so

I agree, the Dogs will move other players on or do what ever to keep Elliott. I think they see him as there next Josh Jackson. Anyway I would be very surprised if they don't find a way of resigning and if they did not resign there would be plenty of interest from clubs like Melbourne, he is a player who ticks a lot of boxes

Well he's off contract. We should at least have a crack at him. You never know , St George really wanted to keep Parker but they couldn't match our price. We are in a good position because we aren't paying any one player 1 million dollars. Unlike Saints, Bulldogs, Melbourne.
The Bulldogs are already over the cap, so we'd be doing them a favour.

I reckon you have a crack at these players as well. Worst case they have to pay a lot more to keep the guy and then end up in a worse salary cap position.

Maybe we get Reynolds to have a chat to him , meant to be great mates , he may come along and with Josh on the bus , you never know , I would make a play for him

Iam sure they probably have had a crack, especially having Egan as our football manager. I also think they probably have had a crack at heap of players we have not even considered. All I am saying is he is very unlikely to leave the Dogs and the Dogs will find a way of getting him into there roster next year…and if he decides to leave a team like the Storm can usually convince young players to sign for a little under the top price being offered

The bus aint a coach just yet, lets be realistic guys.

A hodge podge of players thrown together.

Heres hoping we have a great pre season

Seems to be building a hodge podge of internationals.

your right, it's going to take some time to gel. Brooks and Reynolds mostly.
Still I think it will only be a matter of weeks into the preseason for our new halves paring to start to work better than the Brooses combo.
Cleary will have defined roles for each player.
Most of the other new signings have been experienced players who know how to go forward with gusto. and some depth players in the backs.
I think our strengths will be impact in the middle of the field. We need a dynamic runner of the footballs trailing the middle of the field looking for the offloads that will come from Parker and Matulino. Reynolds is a great support player, but normally off Edge players. From the 5/8 position he'll be too far away from our props.

Not having a go Don but it is Packer, not Parker.

One of Lolohea's strengths is his fast footwork/ acceleration. If he's hanging around the ruck then he will be able to do really well from any late offloads from Packer/ Matulino and anyone else.

Didn't Gus say at the start of last week that we would make some announcements from rival clubs at the end of the week? Still nothing nearly 2 weeks later

Last time I checked, Gus wasn't at the Tigers.

Well done your very smart.

Obviously he would know more about what's going on in the NRL than the average supporter and is probably right with the comment he made. May have been a change of heart from the players or tigers maybe holding out so Gus can't take credit for giving the heads up

Probably waiting for the Warriors to choose another player to demand before they release someone they aren't picking anyway.

Raiders have today officially released Zac Santo to Warriors so Lololeaha will soon be landing in Tiger territory.
