Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Hayne set to leave the Titans and return to Sydney!
Quick Tigers act fast and sign him up as fullback before the Roosters do!
#Not joking about the Tigers signing part, think he would be a great addition under Cleary!

Would be worth a try with a carefully worded incentive contract topped up with a healthy TPA supped by one of our “at arms length” wealthy supporter…. if we have one?
Might be a goer ..... he still has something to prove.

Please no. We could not get his head through the doors at Concord.

No way in the world do we need another ego driven player at the club we just got rid of 2 (moses tedesco)

word is he will go back to the eels, not sure how they plan on fitting him in

think there will be a fair bit of movement shortly

moylan > sharks very heavily rumoured. youd think that would then mean they have to release a few

the pearce saga

still lots of changes in squads to eventuate

I feel like I'm one of the minority of people who doesn't hate on hayne, but even I think he's past it. He doesn't have the explosiveness or break tackle ability that he used to have. Not to mention all the distraction that signing him would create. Sad to say I'd pass on him, even though he was one of favourite players to watch at his best.

So he causes all sorts turmoil at the Titans and gets the coach sacked and NOW he is leaving? Nice job Jaryd- no thanks!

When it comes to Hayne, you don't know how much of his supposed attitude problems and egotism is driven by Media figures who dislike him, and how much of it is actually true.

All i know is that he is better than any outside back we have on the books at the moment.

Sorry if it’s already up but read this the other day and just getting around to it now

http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/league-news/alex-walmsley-could-be-englands-next-big-thing-in-the-nrl-20171030-gzbfrw.html

“But coach Wayne Bennett has confirmed he will unleash Walmsley this weekend, when his side face Lebanon at Sydney's Allianz Stadium.
Tom Burgess, one of many members of England's squad to make a successful transition from Super League to the NRL, says there is a lot to like about Walmsley's brutal approach.”

“Newcastle, Parramatta, Wests Tigers and St George Illawarra reportedly lead the race to sign Walmsley.”

Surely parra are out now Hayne is heading there (we should have a crack at gutherson if that’s true)

Leaves us knights and st g. Surely we have to be in with a shot with those 2

A former Australian schoolboy, the 19-year-old graduate from renowned rugby nursery St Patrick’s College in Sydney bagged a vital second-half try in Lebanon’s thrilling 29-18 win over France in Canberra.

There's a stretch. Someone please tell me more than 1 decent rugby or league footballer to emerge from St Pats Strathfield.

Watch how fast i get banned for this but i have to say it.

Most people on here have the most unrealistic standards. Every single marquee player that comes to the market or is rumoured to come to market is not good enough for us. Moylans a brat, haynes toxic, pearce has his demons, dugans the worlds biggest alcoholic, cooper cronks no good without the other two , Te Maire Martin dogged on a team mate, the 2 morris brothers are has beens, and then obviously moses tedesco and woods are all scum.

What im getting at is that while you cant really argue against any of that, were pretty much saying if youre not Cam Smith or John Thurston then youre not good enough for the tigers.

We arent in every clubs camp seeing the ins and outs, most of us are on the couch monitoring the media, ill conceed that a few here seem to have a few good sources however. Every single players gonna have things people hate about them, even if the media arent aware and therefore havent brought it to our attention.

We NEED at least one player mentioned above. Most of us get excited over good enough players on well priced contracts. No one ever came to a tigers game to see a bunch of blokes gel really well on and off the field, perform well without being amazing and smile the whole time. They come to watch benji step a whole team, Teddy to run the width of the field before cutting through and going the length, woods to make 10m every single hit up before finding his front, tuiaki to run over an entire backline on the way to scoring.

I watched Doueili play with Balmain SG Ball against the competition winners, the Sharks, at Woolooware. This was the game Suli looked all class against a strong Sharks' backline and Seyfarth also played really well. Doueili was halfback at about six feet 2 or 3 inches and had an outstanding kicking game, as well as strong passing and defence. Due to his height he also could unload with players on him. He has all the attributes of an NRL player. I was very disappointed that he went to Souths.

I think Hayne is past his best and won't be value for money. I reckon Ivan the Iveco could tame his ego, but I don't think for what he's asking we'd get ROI.

If he went back to Parra, I would throw the kitchen sink at Gutho though.

Don't know why you would be concerned about a ban with this post, good rant, even if I was a target on a couple of the players above.

I am waiting for the 3 million posts about Hayne not, but the roosters have a few million still left under their cap so should be there without a issue

That's right but Nick is busy signing up Junior Paulo with Crichton next. He'll get to Hayne after that and the NRL can then rubber stamp the deals.

To be fair i scaled it back alot. Main point is that playing ability doesnt appear to be a priority when recruiting to most on here
