I’m so sick of reading in different threads that player X is on the market but we’ve got no chance or there’s no way player Y will come to the Tigers. WHY NOT? Newcastle have been a worse rabble than us but are attracting talk at least. I personally think we have a bright future. Perhaps all the garbage media is paying its toll? As is often said: perception is reality

How do you know we aren't talking to them? Not sure why you are upset with people saying player x would never come here, because so far they are being proven right.

You must be reffering to yourself because you keep making statements that certain players won’t come here, like your in the know or something. We’ve already signed decent players, players that were chased by many clubs, so why wouldn’t that continue. The reason good players will come here now is because we have a reputable coach and no longer your mate.

So it sounds like Pearce is staying a Cock and Keary & Nikorima are more than likely being moved on.

I like Nikorima, but unsure if we could use him right now with so many changes happening at Camp Concord. But, this kid has just turned 21 and I personally feel he will be better than Kodi. Can play 9, 7, or 6 and is way better than Gamble, but I doubt he will go to a club looking to play him in State Cup.

I like Keary too, but not too sure if he would suit Luke Brooks. He is on overs at the Roosters, so maybe will be looking for too much coin at a new club?

I'd be surprised if keary was on overs at the roosters - they signed him out of rabbitohs reserve grade. Plus keary just had a stand out year and only has one year left on his contract. I'd guess Keary's manager is telling him to look at other options as he could potentially get a much bigger contract in the current climate of half signings.

Boyd Cordner is off contract next year….I would seriously consider looking at him as of tomorrow..

but ya know..meh...

SHHHHHH II

Lewis Brown’s days at Manly could be numbered.

Brown has one year remaining on his deal and is within his rights to see out his contract but there’s whispers that the Sea Eagles won’t stand in Brown’s way if he can secure a long-term deal with another club.

Reckon this guy would add anything to the pack? Maybe a little too similar to Rochow…

No!

Lewis Brown couldn't get a start at Wests when Sheens policy was you had to be a second rower, centre or five-eighth to get a run. No thanks.

Yeah, we could just do what Easts would do and let Rochow go and have $800K spare to sign Cordner.

Facebook rumours have us, Saints, parra and knights all looking at signing Alex Walmsley. A big English prop who had a standout year in England. Should be playing this weekend for England.

I thought Esan Marsters was signed to end of 2019?

I heard that Sironen bloke goes alright at Manly, maybe we should have a go at him?

It was reported that Jayden was going back to the Broncos.

Or the personality or talent to be a good NRL coach.

OFF-CONTRACT IN 2018

TIGERS

Benji Marshall, Esan Marsters, JJ Felise, Tim Grant, Kevin Naiqama, Sauaso Sue, Malakai Watene-Zelezniak

I thought Esan Marsters was signed to end of 2019?

No, just one year deal I believe.

Although, I though Angus Crichton and Felise Kaufusi had signed longer at other clubs. If not they should both be in our sights. (I thought Felise was in our sights this year, until he re-signed with Storm. I thought he re-signed for more than 1 year)

So apparently, all these guys are off contract at end of 2018..

David Mead, Corey Oates, Josh Papalii, Junior Paulo, Felise Kaufusi, Dylan Edwards, Tyrone May, Angus Crichton, Joel Thompson, Boyd Cordner, Zane Tetevano.

Would be happy with any of them. 2 or 3 of that mob would be massive. Imagine signing Joel Thompson a year early and pressuring for an early release, or the same with Papalii.

If the WestsTigers don't sign our 7 players Off-Contract (Benji Marshall, Esan Marsters, JJ Felise, Tim Grant, Kevin Naiqama, Sauaso Sue, Malakai Watene-Zelezniak).

Here's the 7 i'd go after (cap space won't be a problem if we use the Roosters model)
Boyd Cordner, Luke Keary, Joel Thompson, Angus Crichton, Dylan Edwards, Ethan Lowe, Michael Morgan.

The league have already set a precedent with the roosters and bronco's, so should be sweet

As I wrote on Monday, Hull KR coach Tim Sheens is in town hunting down talent.

Now for an update.

I have been absolutely sworn to secrecy but I hear the former Kangaroos coach is looking at signing a Dragons halfback and Wests Tigers backrower.

Stay tuned.

I know it's the lurker saying this but still interesting to see who it may be. Might be a strong chance of Lawrence who Sheens coaches for about six or seven years
