What happened to the rule that you have to use most of the salary cap? If we’re $1m under, are we in breach?

Ever heard of front loading?

I would think to do that, new contracts need to be signed.

Why didn't Newcastle front load? http://www.sportingnews.com/au/league/news/newcastle-knights-salary-cap-problem-spending-nathan-brown-kalyn-ponga-aidan-guerra/15d57h16j8p151xl4z1u3bax7x

What about Gideon Gela-Mosby he is VERY fast and has pretty good has, only problem would be defence as he has the same frame as Addo-Carr

Would be a MONSTER signing!! Dunno why cowboys arent starting him id have him over winterstein on the wing and probly even fullback over coote! Easily the fastest in the comp, JAC and French second equal and roberts 4th id say.

Pretty sure he just signed on at NQ tho?

so here we are again letting players go ( no matter what the cause ) and what will we get to replace this player, well there is nothing out there, all these so called clubs who were over the cap, are now buying players and we are the only fools left with no players to bring in, somethings just never change.

What do you do. My take is keep making the tough decisions and the on field results will come. I rate Suli as a chance to be a really good player but we don't need bad influences in the team. We've had 3 players recently who have been disgraces to our club and we just can't pander to players like this anymore.

The club should do everything possible to get either RTS or Latrell Mitchell at the club for 2019.

Front load this years squad so we can have the opportunity to also sign Nathan Cleary in 2020.

That’s about 2 mil on 2 players, get some TPA’s going along and also with the front loading of the cap this year if we do so, the value turns to our favour.

I'm with you BP…players realise they can slide out of WT contracts and instantly go on to other stronger clubs ....where they invariably thrive.
Brisbane(x2)Souths,Manly,Eels and now Dogs have ex-WT players who have had contracts rescinded by US.
Each early termination had on its own quite plausible explanations as to why we acted the way we did,but we never get reciprocation and I'm starting to get the feeling that other clubs(and our own players) are playing us off a break
Something just doesn't feel right about the Suli "event".Its one thing being self righteous and having the highest expectations, but were losing too many of our best young talents and having to buy replacements at premium price.
Its not a winning formula

I think the mistake WT made was offering Suli big bucks too early. Once again the "potential" trap. An entitled kid with a massive bankroll, whats he going to do? He takes full advantage. I have no problem with the response though. Bye bye!

I don't think you comprehend the notion that Suli was a lost cause with the Tigers. Management did everything they possibly could to get him back on track and focused and he simply wasn't interested. Do you want to pay a bloke 460k per year to sit on his backside and gain weight, not put in and string the club along while everyone else does the right thing - puts in the hard yards and shows the club the respect it deserves?

Letting Suli go was the only course of action the Tigers could take.

He is a special talent and will achieve great things if he gets his attitude right but as Willow said, if he doesn't put in the hard yards at training and isn't willing to listen to club officials - he isn't someone I would want representing Wests Tigers.
