In any event I don't see a rush for us to sign someone. Sounds like Sam McIntyre has been killing it at training so if he gets upgraded, good luck to him, means he's one to watch out for.

Gee sorry tony tiger just an opinion mate, like yours with the size issue, seems like there’s always someone that has to drop a negative whenever someone mentions a player they like.
The best players in game don’t have much size to them and I’m not saying peachey is in that circle.
The year we won the trophy we had one of the smallest packs in the comp.

Yep, never been a huge fan of Peachey. Good solid player but I reckon there may be others who would suit us better.

I see nothing in Peachey either. Versatile but not particularly good in any position.

Peachey isnt consistent enough. I honestly hope Ailoia goes hard this year so that hes the successor to Lawrence. A player like mcintyre could be a successor to mcquern in two years. Who knows. Halfback and a fullnack are more important at the moment.

No prob Willow. The year we won the comp (2005) we had quick play the balls, Benji Marshall and Robbie Farah at their peak, Pat Richards that turned 4 points into 6, out-leapt everyone to score from bombs, had a monster kick-off that brought rain, Brett Hodgson as a monster attacking unit and safe as a bank in defence, Lafranchi and Gibbs as big units in the front row, and a coach that had a man fetish for Daniel Fitzhenry.
The size issue was bit exaggerated in the press, made for a good fairytale critique.

Peachey is a great player. I like the dwarf throwing comment.

Peachey never got the ball because of the greatest ball hog and worst ball player in Moylan

Probably thought he better hang onto it , because the next time he would get to touch it was training :laughing:

Size isn't necessarily a big issue with a decent ball player , take him tomorrow to replace Suli

But he is off to the Titans unfortunately

Yeah I heard the titans were the favourites, I’m not sure either tbh Nelson but I like the way he plays his footy.

Yeah me too, he's got good instincts. He's at his best in the middle but I don't think we can afford to carry another small forward.

Joseph Manu from Easts Is also an option, I don’t think he’s got a contract after next year,
Plays centre and back row and is behind certain starters out there.

I think our best alterinative is to leave that as it is, and front load some players to help us bring over RTS and Nathan Cleary in 2019 and 2020.

I don’t see any negatives with front loading with the current situation that’s going on with this club for the meantime, no one really seems to be available and we’ve got some good depth as it stands….

Sirro? surely manly would of paid his way. I thought the player and team agreed on a release?

Fair enough about Cleary and RTS. I just dont want to be in a situation like the past. Or like the bulldogs with des backloading Eastwood, morris boys, graeme and mybe. He stuffed up manly and did the same there. So what would we offer Cleary? considering his father is here? 5 mill/ 5 years?

Frontloading comes back to bite you when the players contract is up for renewal but you’ve already spent the cap.

Don't get what you mean Kul. So if we allocate more cap to Chris Lawrence now, that only frees cap for contract renewals next year? You would do every renewal first before frontloading anything.

I think you could even separate the cash payments from the cap. So allocate cap now and defer the wage payment.

But yeah, I'm sure those Rooster guys are doing the wrong thing. Let's just be angry with them for signing cronk, Ted and chrighton and accept mediocrity.

You guys really worry me sometimes. This is a no brainier to me.

Forget the Supercoach points GNR (whatever that is) -

He's cost Mansour a bag load of tries - and that's points as well.

He's very ordinary - not as good as the players we have imo.

Front-loading a contract, correct me if I'm wrong, works like this:
For e.g. Player 1 on a three year deal for $500k a year. So that's $1.5m over 3 years.
Usually Year 1 - $500k, Year 2 - $500k, Year 3 - $500k, but front loading would go like this,
Year 1 - $700k, Year 2 - $400k, Year 3 $400k…

The only draw back, is if you front load a player, and the guy wants to leave.
