Heaps of natural ability in Luai but week in week out in the NRL is very different. Perfect scenario for him against big tired forwards missing tackles. Once teams are onto him and put him under pressure I doubt he’d look anything like that each week.

We need to take a leaf out of Newcastles book…they went out on a limb and signed ponga with very little Nrl experience....i really think this kid is going to be the goods....im just sick and tired of this club signing washed up hacks from clubs with losing cultures

Re Newcastle. Just read this article on how they struggle to sign players too ..

But the interesting part of the article is this …

This Bronco has already bolted

It didn’t take long for the Knights to be linked to another winger after they lost out to the Parramatta Eels during the week for the signature of Blake Ferguson.

It was reported the club now had impressive young Brisbane Bronco Jamayne Isaako in their sights.

Only trouble is we hear that horse has already bolted.

Isaako has apparently already decided on a club for next season with the Knights told they’d be wasting their time if they pursued it.

Our mail is he will either stay in Brisbane or announce he is moving to the Sydney Roosters as Ferguson’s replacement.

Id take this one step further. Lets form an official partnership with Patrician Brothers Fairfield and St Gregories Campblpelltown etc

Blue ribbon school = Well coached kids from decent families who understand structure and discipline.

While we are at it lets go get our Keebra Park system back. Was never happy that the muppet played a part in taking that away.

A lot of the Pats kids already in the Eels and Penrith systems. No sign of us in sight

Just heard NQL Cowboys have stood down gideon gela mosby for driving without a licence. Could be a handy pickup for us

So …. he won't be the bus driver then

We don't need a bus driver we need someone who can provide some very much needed pace in our backline.

Why aren't we looking at the Raiders? Cotric on the wing would go well. Roosters will probably nab him in a few years but until then why not. They have a couple of forwards too that I wouldn't say no to.

Maybe because Cotric extended his contract at the Raiders until the end of 2020

The U15 ASSRL Championships have just been held and from what I have read, we have William Abou-Arrage (Balmain and Christian Brothers Lewisham) in the Aust U15 Merit team and Brandon Tumeth (Balmain and Holy Cross Ryde) as NSW CCC most valuable player.

\
The Open Championships happend from 15 to 18 July in Kingscliff NSW. Does anyone have information on players from Balmain. Wests or scholarship players in the CCC, CHS, QLD or CIS squads?

It is very interesting reading the responses from the media story. Perhaps it is worthwhile to mention a few facts:

1) Ivan is at the start of a rebuilding process. Although his record is good, realistically, he hasn't achieved anything as yet at the Tigers. In an interview, he said we are a 3-5 year project, I believe the Broncos will want a top coach with a recent, proven track record. They were recently after Bellamy and I feel there is a bit of a gap between Bellamy and Cleary given their records.
\
\
2) To my mind, Nathan Cleary is still a _potential_ superstar. He hasn't really owned the competition and by his own admission is still coming to grips with the origin arena. There have been many that have shown star potential at an early age and plateaued. For halfbacks I would say Brett Finch, Pearce and even our own Brooks are examples of this. Very good first grade players but not JT or Johns.
\
\
3) Package deals like this can end in tears. As we know, coaches come and go and having your marquee player the son of the coach could be risky if sustained success is not forthcoming. Especially at a place like the Broncos who expect to win.

There may be some truth to the rumour however I think It is a substantial gamble on the Bronco's behalf to sign them both given that they still have a bit to prove.

Broncs should make a play for robinson.

That would make more sense to me. Premiership winner, consistent finals appearance and used to being in a successful club culture.

Also both Broncos and Roosters have the same cap limit "To infinity and Beyond", I've heard that somewhere.

Lol of course! If you don't stay at Brisbane where else would you go? A forgone conclusion that's becoming laughable really. Maybe the Roosters and Broncos can just play each other for 3 games each season, a la State of Origin format, and that can be the NRL comp for the year.

I really can't be bothered with the game anymore with this kind of underhanded crap and blatant favouritism going on all the time!

Yeah it's kind of hard though when we're up against this sort of bias. The rich clubs just keep stacking themselves with all the elite players while clubs like ours end up with nuffies or honest toilers, who just don't have the talent to compete each week. How are we ever going to get better than these teams with this scenario happening more and more and no one even caring putting a stop to it?

As if the NRL would implement that - too fair and sensible.
